La Merced Del Alto

This was one of the most memorable places we have ever stayed at. The property itself is a work of art with a large garden and breathtaking views everywhere you look. We arrived late at night and were delighted to find the restaurant still open. We had an excellent steak with delicious wine, empanadas, desert etc., served by a nice waiter. In terms of the room, the beds were comfy and huge. Since the hotel is in the middle of nature, you can stargaze and take photos of the night sky even with a phone. As a bonus, there was a cute friendly ginger cat hanging around, letting guests pet it. Overall, it was magical. I hope to come back here in the future.

Agree with other reviews that the place has much more potential.

The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet, the restaurant even though expansive very good. The breakfast was excellent as well.

The lady at the reception was hardly smiling (therefore the 8 out of 10, because everytime we ask something we felt we were bothering her) and her not speaking any english. The location is quite outside town. One night was enough for us.

- great location (outside of Cachi, a car is recommended, but in our case it was, what we were looking for) - nice rooms (without an AC, which was not needed during our stay (mid February) - good restaurant

- for a prime hotel, the breakfast was good, but did not meet the standards

Friendly staff, the local and charming atmosphere. The view of the mountains from the back and front yard. When you arrive to the site, you feel that you can live in that place for ever.

You may have to carry your luggage, depending on the time of departure. Not enough staff to help you

The hotel and the surroundings are fantastic! Old historical building with vast corridors, halls and rooms. Cosy patio with fountain - is the perfect place to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. Wherever you look - the mountain views are amazing. Its quiet as it away from Cachi.

the hotel is outside Cachi , only 5 min drive in a beautiful setting . It is a gorgeous building well decorated

There was no air condition or TV in our room. The restaurant food and service was not what we expected for that place

A fantastic hotel set in a lovely spot. The decoration throughout has been done with great taste. The room was big and very comfortable. The restaurant experience was very good, the staff friendly and helpful. A marvellous hotel highly recommendable!!

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Perfect spot for a short getaway. Beautifully renovated, with breathtaking views, practically all around. Cool pool, good massages and a fantastic restaurant. Definitely one of the gems in Cachi :-)

Large and nice bedroom. Good meal at the restaurant. Property is very nice, away from town, nice garden. Kind staff.

They were short of staff and somehow the hotel lacked its spirit.

The restaurant and the lounge bar area are very cozy with a fireplace. Really loved it. There is a very good restaurangt where i had one of the best lamb meat experience in my life (and i usually don;t eat lamb)

don;t really know what wasn't ok, as we stayed only one night and everything was pretty good.
