Reef Gateway Hotel

I recently stayed at REEF GATEWAY HOTEL and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The cleanliness of the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless, and the common areas were well-maintained. The value for money was exceptional. I felt like I got more than what I paid for. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay.

Hotel is old but very neat and clean according to his age Cleaning staff is excellent They do their job very well Linen and Towels were all excellent clean and fresh everyday .Reception lady is also very professional Food from restaurant downstairs is excellent Overall very good value for money 💰

The chairs in the room is very old with no table and ants in the mini bar was a concern but staff did their best to make our stay comfortable 👍

Large comfortable rooms with good facilities. Restaurant and hotel within the premises with easy access from the rooms. Food was good quality and portion size and the staff friendly and professional.

Some mornings there was quite a lot of traffic noise , with road construction nearby. Traffic conditions made it interesting to depart the premises especially when turning across the traffic - patience required!

I liked the location of the motel as it was nestled right in between the main visiting areas of Airlie Beach. It was so convenient to have the accommodation and restaurant next to each other.

The corner room we had was beside the main road so it was a bit noisy with sound of traffic. I found it confusing at first to have no hot water during the late evening and early morning as we got in late from an event and we were up early to pack and leave, and we wanted showers. We later realised the hot water must to be turned off during that period to save money which is understandable, but it would have been better to have that listed in the motel book. I also found that the 3 lights in the room operated on one switch so we either had to have them on or off. Would have preferred to have the light near the entry door on one switch and the other 2 lights on another switch.

Staff do a really good job and friendly. Room serviced daily and efficiently. Washing machines and driers plus a clothesline really appreciated. Attached hotel convenient food OK. Cups, wine glasses, plates and cutlery, tea towel etc all excellent. Info on things for laundry really good.

The general area is too busy for us. 2 years ago with covid it was lovely. Not for us any more. Having said that, this motel has more plates, cups etc plus attached facilities than some of the cabins we've stayed in the past couple of months.

All staff were friendly and helpful. Bistro staff agreed to make coffees at 4:30pm, and when we ordered our meal, the lovely lady said that it could be delivered to our room. Room was spacious and clean. Air con was on when we arrived. There was a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and toiletries. Beds and pillows were comfy. A great stay and excellent value. Will definitely stay again.

The staff was absolutely amazing. We were scammed with our booked accommodation and had no accommodation during the July holidays. We took a chance to see whether Reef gateway hotel could accommodate us the night before our booking with them. They were really busy but the lovely staff made it happen. We will be forever grateful. I really like the laundry facilities as well.

Value for money one of the best pub rooms you can stay in, beds are so comfortable and out do some of the more expensive places we have stayed, staff were exceptional and very understanding, bistro in the hotel did room service which we got numerous times absolutely exceptional will be back for sure.

The staff make this place. We have stayed on the way up to Cairns and returning. Bernie needs to be called out as EXCEPTIONAL. My husband left his mobile phone in the room on the way up to Cairns and we picked it up on the way back. Not only did Bernie make sure it was safe, she also went out of her way to make us feel very special. We will never forget her kindness.

I rocked up to the hotel and was pleasantly surprised. For the amount I paid for this room- I was expecting worse. The room was spacious, very clean and had many additions. Etc a tv, microwave, utensils

I would of liked to be able to order room service at an earlier time. (more range in the hours)
