Charleville Waltzing Matilda Motor Inn

Comfortable, clean and warm with good facilities. Very convenient for town and the other local attractions. The artesian water has a strong unpleasant odour but that is the case throughout the region. The owners were pleasant and friendly. We left a small item in the room when we left and they kindly agreed to post it back to us.

The signage needs to be improved Despite having a street frontage we drove past it twice before spotting it! Parking was adequate. Our room faced onto a metal fabrication yard which wasn’t the best outlook but it was quiet most of the time.

Good motel, easy walking distance to the main street & shops. Free laundry with either dryer or clothes line to use. Popular motel, no issues re noise. Good shower, comfy bed. For those who are unprepared for the smell of the local water when used, signs in bathroom explain that the water comes from the Artisian Basin, so has a Sulphur smell. Some may not like this but it wasn't an issue for us.

Didn't like smokers who sat outside their room at night & smoke wafted into our room so had to close windows. Should be a designated smokers area not near rooms.

The owners were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and as soon as we opened the door, were met with the smell of a fresh room. The beds were comfortable and offered a restful sleep and the complementary bottled water was a nice touch. Being close to the town center was great as well. Overall lovely stay for the brief time we were in town for my cousins wedding. I will definitely be staying again in future and would recommended to anyone I know looking for a place to stay that is affordable and close to the shops.

Very minor, but my only dislike would be the view of the Elders yard next door.

Staff very Friendly which I knew they would be, shower excellent, location was perfect very close to the main shops.

Bed was firm my husband loved it I didn't, pool cold which I wasn't expecting due to the artesian bore water, we had to change our parking as our car couldn't fit underneath the roofing but these things didn't change our comfort or expectation, on Waltzing Matalida Motor Inn. We were very disappointed in the WWII museum, there were a few old war items, everything else was made to look old but sorry it didn't work.

Had the best experience there, from the moment we booked in and during our stay, they couldn’t do enough for you to make sure we were comfortable. Very clean rooms and exterior was immaculate also. Location was great, in the town centre, bakery across the road, excellent RSL club about a 1 km walk away for great meals and drinks. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

the cutest motel dog ever. little snagalicious. bottled water so we didn’t have to drink the local artisan basin. very very comfortable bed and pillows. easy to access what you needed in town. also thought the room was decent sized.

we were travelling for a funeral and our friends who were also booked in as guests had a stuff up with their booking. this meant they were left without a bed. i believe this was a system error via booking.com ( the booking was confirmed in the email and website upon checking in) but it was still unfortunate to travel over 600km and only lucky that we could put our daughter in our bed and offer our spare bed in our room.

We spent three nights at Charleville and enjoyed it very much. There was actually a laundry with washing machine and dryer without charge. There was also a clothesline with pegs supplied. Supermarket was at hand and we could walk to almost everything we wished to visit. When using the BBQ the office supplied a kit with all the necessaries including oil spray. The kitchen had with microwave ,jug and toaster and basic crockery. This is the only motel we have ever stayed at where we watched the staff collect all of the cutlery glasses and cups to be washed as people checked out. My feeling is that sometimes the washing up is left to the occupants!

The height of the entry and exit points limits high vehicles but the office will find an alternative which may be away from your room.

would prefer onsite overnight EV charging. Even just a 10A power point before doing the cost of installing 7 kW AC charging (the issue isn't about free charging, just need charging. The public charging station is too far away to use for overnight charging, or for destination charging (Council needs to fix that))

This motor Inn was very close to the main street of town and within easy walking distance to shops, hotels, nature walks etc. The staff were extremely helpful and happy to fulfil our requests, such as wine glasses, plates and cutlery. My friend and I had a twin room (a queen and a single). The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting outside our room with a coffee and book, and chatting with the neighbours. The front garden was also a very pleasant area to sit to watch the world go by. Meals were available; we had breakfast delivered to our room on our last morning. We discovered that this was a very popular accommodation, not only for regular clientele, but because so many people we met out and about were also staying at the Waltzing Matilda.

Nothing

This is the standard Australian motel - nothing flash, - but ticks all the boxes. You can park right outside the room, so unloading very easy. The room has everything you want - microwave, toaster, kettle. The bed was extrememly comfortable, the room was quiet, and it is centrally located. The price was very competetive. What more can you want ?

Nothing - cant think of any complaints. It is good value for what you pay.
