Colonial Rose Motel

Location is perfect for accessing other shops. Plenty on site parking. Secure rooms, block out curtains for a sleep in or early night. We had a King size bed, which was two bed pushed together. It was very comfortable, we slept well. Room was very clean throughout. Shower was fantastic. Large, easy access walk in shower which is great for older people. Water was hot and plenty of pressure. Towels supplied were large and fluffy, no face washer which was a little disappointing. Outside each room in a small table and two chairs which also provides a space to have a quiet drink, conversation in the afternoons. Large tv with access to movies, sports and news channels. Will stay again when in Townsville.

I needed a home base to keep my belongings, shower, eat and sleep outside of a busy work schedule. The length of my stay was very unpredictable. James was understanding, flexible, accommodating and friendly. The room was quite large, clean and provided everything I needed. The location was also central to my needs for work, and for some downtime leisure when wanted. I would stay here again and recommend to others. Thank you!

The property was super clean! Everything was neat and tidy and the inclusion of a few essential items such as toaster and microwave was great. The room had good space and well-located for a sporting stay. Welcome was very friendly and key drop check out was quick and easy. The room was surprisingly quiet given its proximity to a fairly busy road. The daily room refresh was a nice touch.

Once busy, parking is a little congested in the corner but not terrible. No exhaust fan in bathroom and no bug-screen on bathroom window but these were not major issues for a short stopover. Chains on doors are nice but upgrading all rooms to deadbolts would add to safety/security especially for solo travellers.

The food was fantastic. We both had seafood for dinner and it was cooked to perfection. Waiting staff were also lovely. And not that it's a big thing but having a flask of chilled water in the rooms bar fridge was really lovely. We stopped at a few from places to get to our destination (Melbourne to Townsville) and this by far was the best accommodation.

I have stayed at Colonial Rose Motel a number of times now, and will continue to do so when I visit Townsville. The staff are exceedingly helpful and I am always able to get a room on the ground floor...necessary for medical reasons. The bed is extremely comfortable and the microwave means I can eat in. Highly recommend this motel when staying in Townsville.

The menu looked great; the prices seemed reasonable but there was no breakfast on a Sunday so we missed out otherwise we would of ordered.

The only thing I didn't like was I didn't get a chance to swim in the pool it looked so inviting. But that was my own doing too busy,

The staff were amazingly accommodating.. The venue was beautifully presented .. The room was extremely comfortable and had EVERYTHING that I needed...

There was NOTHING that I wasn't happy with at this amazingly comfortable place to rest my head and regroup.

Colonial Rose Motel is centrally located. The rooms are excellent, larger than the average motel room, our room had a microwave, crockery, cutlery if we wanted to self cater. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast is great and very reasonably priced. Our entire 4 night stay including breakfast and extras was less than my last 2 night accommodation only stay at a different venue in Townsville. The staff are exceptional, they met every need and request. Thank you to all for making our stay so comfortable. We highly recommend this lovely family owned and operated motel to anyone travelling to Townsville.

Everyone talks about the location, comfortable beds etc, but I'd like to point out all the extras which made my stay so successful. Little things, like having cold water in the fridge that I didn't have to purchase. Like a ceiling fan and a window to open (I hate air-conditioning). Like mugs instead of stupid little cups, and best of all, milk in little bottles! Loved it all.

Only improvement could be the addition of a face washer. I ended up using the provided chux wipe.

Although the property was filled to capacity it was lovely and quiet on the night of our stay. The room was quite a nice size and lovely and clean. The reception staff were very helpful in responding to all enquiries. Would recommend the Colonial Rose to any traveller.
