Radeka Downunder Underground Motel

You drive into Coober Pedy for the first time ever and think oh gosh where am I 😂 Then you’re met by Gary to check in and realise this place is super cool and unique! We also met Pete the new owner and just cannot rate the staff and their knowledge enough! Our underground family room was clean and cosy beds were comfy and located super close to everything in the small town. It is a little old and tired but that was part of the charm was absolutely perfect and secure. Thanks Pete can’t wait to see what you do with this place!

Well nothing really

Great location near the Main Street & all the shops/restaurants. Pet friendly. Nice & cool being “underground”. Comfy bed, clean room. Sheets were a bit old but I liked the snuggly softness that they had & they were clean. Fridge & fan were great to keep drinks & the room cool. Freezer even froze our esky ice blocks! 😃

Shower had mouldy looking grout, likely from the humidity/heat but it detracted from the rest of the immaculately clean room.

Exciting to experience the typical 'dugout' accommodation only found in Coober Pedy. Radeka is close to restaurants, the museum, bus terminal. It has a well organized refrigerators current use and those that are for 'grab' or foods previous clients want to give away.

Typical of Coober Pedy, it is a bit dusty. Closing the windows and the door address that problem.

The staff at reception were lovely and offered a great first impression for my first time in Coober Pedy. Location was also great and within walking distance of most of the town.

The only thing I would have liked to see improved is perhaps some shade over the area for smokers, as it was over 40 degrees while I was there, everything else was great

Interesting experience of being able to stay underground. Premises was well secured, and so was the car park

There was a smell in the bathroom. It looked like the sewage pipe from the toilet was not connected to the toilet correctly. It was gor in the room since there wasn't much air flow. Having the portable fan did help a little bit. Granted, it was the end of summer.

A great clean comfy Accomodation and if course unique. The free wifi was excellent . The device and directions good.. safe facility close to take aways entertainment.

I liked everything. Only suggestion is a side beside lamp as it was very dark and a lil scary m I had to sleep with Tv on for a light with volume down. Other than that Ithorougjly enjoyed..Perfect spot to rest shower n sleep in the cool after a long hit drive on a hit day.amenitities coffee and cold water even having ice in freezer was so welcoming. Sanitizer and Glen 20 a total bonus to use whilst in this COVID pandemic and real cups.

I cannot say enough about these lovely people, nothing was to much trouble for them. I had broken my foot from a previous hotel and these people gave me a new room to make it easier, and a shower chair. They even took the door off the toilet to make it easier for me. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

What a fun place to stay, at our request we got a room with outside bathroom that we had stayed in before. Such an experience to sleep underground. Although we had a room with ensuite the cooking facilities available to backpackers and guests would be very useful if needed.

Have stayed here before for the experience so know what to expect. Nothing to dislike.

Radeka provided a genuine Coober Pdey Dugout experience for a very reasonable price. The shower had excellent pressure and heat. the beds were comfortable. I travelled with my elderly mother and had a twin room. It was perfect for the one night we were there.

Such friendly staff, loved the recycling of the brochures, the beds were comfortable, and we slept well. Key drop was easy....

Other residents made a very loud early exit...not the staff's fault by any stretch of the imagination.... doors slamming open and closed and engines revving....
