The property has yesteryear character. It has a certain charm to it. The rooms are clean and feel fresh. There’s a heater if you need it. Definitely eat at Steve’s Grill downstairs. I had two great meals there and excellent coffee! Motel staff were helpful and pleasant. - Adequate TV (not smart TV) - Bathtub - Tea and coffee facilities - Modern bathroom - Coles supermarket right across the road
The stairs are killer! Best not to attempt carrying lots of luggage upstairs. Try to pack light or only bring a carry-on case up to your room. The blinds are not really blockout so bring a sleep mask. Some may find the road noise a bit much but I thought it was ok. - Lighting could be better - Bathroom is a tight squeeze but you can work around it - Room lock could be updated

Location was good, only a short walk from the city and very close to supermarket. Staff were nice and rooms were clean. Lots of tea and milk! For a short stay on a budget this is a great option.
Room and bathroom were both quite small. We were considering eating at the pub below but they didn't have any vegetarian option at all, it worked out well though as we went to Monsoon which caters for meat and plant eaters and was really great food.

I enjoyed my stay at Centennial Inn. It suited my purpose for a night's accommodation prior to departing Launceston for home. The location is good, lots of things within walking distance. Close to Cataract Gorge although I do recommend having a vehicle to get up the steep hills. There is a Coles supermarket across the road which is super convenient. Steve's Grill serves a delicious meal.
Was a bit noisy with traffic, but it is on a main road :)

I found my stay at Centennial Inn comfortable. I stayed for two nights at the start of my journey around Tasmania. The location was good, especially having a Coles Supermarket across the street where I could get supplies for my journey. There was a kettle, toaster and microwave in the room. Basic kitchen facilities but this is all I needed. I would recommend staying here. Bed was comfortable.

Scrupulously clean and fresh. No apparent perfumes used, a blessing. I'm fussy about odors. Bed was comfortable. A very small room. Small TV and old painted wardrobe. No chair to sit in but probably not space. Looked like new renovation quality bathroom and sink fittings with excellent hot water pressure. Some cutlery, dishes and electric jug provided. Good value. The only significant con was a portable noisy heater/aircon.
Noisy Aircon/heater unit

Pleasantly surprised that this was an excellent place to stay. A little far from center of town (I'm old, overweight and unfit!) but every morning I took a new street for the 10 minute walk and got to see some amazing houses and parks and shops. Superb, well patronized Restaurant downstairs and huge Coles Supermarket across the road. Chinese Restaurant two minutes walk. Helpful staff and when I wanted to extend my stay moved from double room to a single room - both great options for Solo Travelers. Yes ! there is a basin in the bedroom, but who cares, functional and practical. No complaints over bed or bath. Would stay again, especially if I had a car as heaps of parking around.
No complaints it is what it says it is - a Budget Beauty for Launceston.

very clean, convenient location, off street parking, very helpful and friendly staff, opening window to fresh air
the hot water ran out in the evening and didn't become hot until after 7.30am the next morning, but the staff went out of their way to remedy the situation, so that made the difference. The room I was in was noisy as the building is right close to the road where heavy traffic including logging trucks start from early in the week days.

Very clean. Not perfumed, not smelly. Just very clean. Good shower. A fridge, jug, cups and some utensils.
The building is old and they're trying their best. Traffic noisy but nothing to be done about that.

For me...location is excellent. With Coles across the road, chinese restaurant up the road, pizza & Steves Grill at Centennial. There's cafe, park, shops. The city is a walk away. As for the accommodation...it suited me . Staff are helpful, rooms clean, bed comfortable. Good night sleep

fantastic location, friendly staff, well-equipped.
the ONLY gripe I had was that the guidance said short-stay rooms would not be serviced, but someone came and cleaned mine on Christmas Day (of all days!!). I wouldn’t typically mind, but if I’d known I would have packed away things I did not want moved/touched (and made it easier for the cleaner to get in and do what they needed).
