Chimes Spa Retreat

This was certainly a beautiful place to spend with family and friends. The view was amazing and very picturesque. The spa treatment was to die for. Could have easily had a little snooze whilst enjoying a relaxing massage which left me wanting more. The room was big and spacious, and I even enjoyed sitting out on the decking having a read. If you have forgotten a book there is a whole wall of books and even games to play. It was also nice to have a little tipple of Port when we came back from dinner and sat out and chatted on the comfy couches. I would definitely come back again.

The only thing I didn't like was where the bath was in the room. It was a little bit hard to get into especially if someone was in the bathroom. That is the only fault I could find.

Beautifully appointed rooms with a feel of luxury. Stayed in the ocean view suite which was spacious with a small deck and sitting area. Great variety at breakfast and coffee machine accessible for hot beverages at all times. Kitchen and dining area available for guest use if not wanting to eat out. Platters also available to order. Short drive to Denmark for a number of restaurants and Ajar restaurant easy walk. A range of communal areas all for guest use which were all so comfortable.

Not great sound proofing between rooms. Would still choose to stay here again though. Favourite accommodation place over 3 weeks in south west.

Breakfat museli and compote was so delicious. Bath was perfect - comfortable and spacious. The laylout of the room was great, good to have the bathroom/toilet separate but the bath kind of open plan. Felt as though real thought has gone into the customer experience and the finer details. Lovely having use of the bath and shower products, not just tiny samples like at other places. Access to the kitchen facilities and a fully stocked tea and coffee station with little treats on the bench was 10/10. Accommodating storage of food and cake in the fridge was great. Complimentary sparkling for my partners birthday was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Would love to stay here for a week if I could afford it! But such a wonderful treat even if just for one night. Best accomodation (all round) that we have ever stayed in. It has all the finery of a fancy hotel but the service is intimate and tailored to the customer.

Greenery outside the windows was lovely. Would have liked to have blinds open more but worried about the view from the garden in. Shower floor slippery material, might be difficult for elderly or those unsteady on feet. But otherwise shower was lovely! Found you by booking.com. But did go to website to get more info. I think if you had more information about the facilities and photos in general you might get more traffic. For example you have a kitchen that is accessible to guests with fridge etc (it is kind of like a boujie hostel in this way), that would have been a big tick for us as we are travelling to know we could store something in a fridge, might have booked for longer or booked in sooner.

Everything about chimes was absolutely breath taking this trip was very special for my husband and I and we have never done something like this before and part of this stay was absolutely perfect and we had the most amazing experience to go away on our own no kids and to get the services we got just made our time away even more amazing my husband and I returned home and it honesty took us a couple of days to stop feeling like we were floating the day spa services and truly spectacular we have not only had the privilege of trying the products chimes has to offer but we have bought home a hole bundle of products they have that you can buy so we have had the joy of using them at home and the house smells amazing reminds us of our stay the Oromas from the essential oil are beautiful and the skin products wow just gorgeous thank you so much to everyone at chimes for making our trip away one we will never forget ❤️

Can't say one bad thing about this place

This property was exceptional! We wished we had booked for longer than one night as we didn't want to leave. The entire property has the most welcoming and warm essence to it and that is also reflected in the friendly staff. It's a smaller property with only around 10 rooms available to book, 7 of which are in the main property. There are so many facilities available for guests including complimentary port served at 5pm daily, a roaring fire in the main sitting area, a pool table, plenty of books and board games, tea, coffee, filtered water and fruit. The complimentary breakfast was also lovely with boiled eggs, home made bread for toast, cereals, yoghurt and juice. My partner and I also booked a massage at the onsite spa which was incredible. We felt like we were floating on air the whole stay! It was 10/10 and I couldn't fault a thing.

This property is exceptional! We could not have been more impressed or happy with the decision to stay here. The view is exceptional and simply breathtaking. The spa was amazing and the massage was certainly the best way to start the stay. The breakfast was perfect start to both the days and ability to use kitchen and bbq areas was well received. The room was the perfect size and the inclusion of a bath was pure indulgence. To top it off the staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel at home!

Fantastic location, peaceful and picturesque setting. Rooms were so clean and comfortable with excellent Toiletries on offer during the stay. Platters we ordered were fabulous and catered for vegetarians.Wonderful stay.

Guests are able to make tea and coffee at their leisure 24/7 which is great however no options for other beverages. Even with ordering the platters there is no option to purchase bottled water juices or soft drinks- except for the mini bar in the room. It was still a really great stay, we just would have liked a heads up to bring our own drinks beforehand.

Chimes is situated on the most beautiful property with a breathtaking view! The bath was definitely a highlight and the shower products they use are divine. The breakfast was delicious, particularly the Bircher muesli, and there’s the option of purchasing a cooked breakfast too. It’s a short 5 minute drive to Denmark town centre. The common areas are beautiful and having fruit and port out for guests to enjoy is a nice touch.

I’m a light sleeper and the walls are a bit thin/floor echoes a bit, we could hear people walking up and down the hallway but there’s nothing to be done about it. It might be better to stay further down the hallway away from the main living areas.

the property is clean and well appointed. staff were friendly and helpful. the communal areas were comfortable and warm. lovely views from the deck and dining room and the tea and coffee facilities meant not needing to bother with the kettle in your room.

the only disappointment for me were the chairs in the room. being wicker it was difficult to lounge in them and get comfortable to watch TV. the only way I could get comfortable was with multiple cushions and pillows. the orientation of the bed to the TV meant you ended up with a stiff neck trying to watch.

Beautiful 2 storey suite with a wonderful private balcony and views. The double spa was amazing, as were all of the Ikou products made available to us in our room. Continental breakfast was delicious. The property was in a wonderful location. I also loved the candles, robes and slippers.

It would have been better if our room was serviced. Dirty plates and glasses were left in our room all day. New candles for day 2 would have been wonderful.
