Hotel Stefanie

It’s situated in a slightly quieter, more peaceful part of the city, only a short walk from the main centre. It’s all kept really well, with a modern bathroom, while still preserving the traditional feel of its history. The rooms also come with plenty of extra amenities, including a shoe shine polish, shower cap, nail file and face flannels. The staff are friendly and genuinely want to do anything they can to help. The breakfast was delicious, with a large spread of cold cheeses, cured meats, breads, pastries, cakes, hot eggs and meat, fruit juices and even champagne. There’s also a cosy cafe/bar with a charismatic barman.

The bed mattress wasn’t the most comfortable, the duvet a little short and you might need to ask reception for thicker pillows (they have a range they’ll happily offer you). The wardrobe was slightly narrow so you might not have loads of room to hang clothes if you’re coming for longer than a few nights. The restaurant also doesn’t have enough tables to accommodate the whole hotel, so you’ll have to queue for breakfast if you go after 9:00, but it’s not too long a wait. However, these things wouldn’t stop us going back.

The hotel was very central, near the underground. It was also within walking distance of a lot of attractions. The reception staff were friendly nd check in nd out speedy. The hotel itself was warm exceptionally clean and tidy. We got a celebration treat because we celebrated birthdays nd wedding anniversary. Thank u for the lovely gesture. We appreciated ur thoughtfulness. Our room was well looked after by housekeeping staff. The shower was amazing nd I could actually work the shower!!!!! There was an excellent breakfast on offer and the staff were friendly nd helpful We had been in hotel Stephanie before nd delighted we went back.

All was ok

The location of the hotel was awesome as it was within walking distance of so many attractions as well as very close to the trains and subways which make traveling throughout the city super easy and safe. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with just about everything you needed, and they sometimes went out of their way to help you with just about any problem or issue that arose during our stay. The breakfast was great with such a wide selection of food, meats, cheeses, eggs, bread, and so much more. They kept the food very fresh, the tables neat and clean, and if you needed anything at all you just had to ask, and they provided it. The room service was also great especially for the late-night snack or craving and this normally was available until 10 or 11 PM. The rooms were very nice, very clean, and very quiet which made relaxing at the end of a long day's adventures so nice. They did a great job providing daily cleaning of the rooms and any special needs you might have like more pillows or an additional blanket. The history of the hotel was also so wonderful to learn and explore and they helped book local tours to meet your every desire and adventure.

The only thing that we can say that we did not like were some of the late-night staff as they seemed put out at times when we asked them to help us with something simple like WIFI problems, or other room issues that arose. The bar served food until 11PM, but on one occasion we tried to obtain a sandwich at 1030 and the staff there told us that we could not order that as they had already cleaned the machine that cooked the sandwich, and they were not going to dirty it for two sandwiches that we wanted to order. This meant that we either had to venture outside the hotel to get what we wanted or go without. Not the most accommodating!

The hotel is not only a beautiful historical site but also very elegant. The room was comfortable with a modern bathroom, both are very clean. All the staff are helpful, friendly, and welcoming. We had breakfast every day and enjoyed the richness of the menu - something for everyone. Before leaving, we had a dinner of excellent quality (try the "Trilogy" dessert - it is a work of art!). The location is also excellent - about five minutes away from Schwedenplatz, where you have the underground and tramway stops, which allow you to reach any destination in Vienna. Stephensplatz is the next stop by the metro, which means you can also walk there if you want to. Thanks, team Stefanie for contributing to our enjoyable vacation in beautiful Vienna!

The oldest Hotel in Vienna doesn't disappoint, breakfast was amazing, Sekt included (fizz), staff were friendly. Location is slightly outside the centre which we preferred

The hotel has an excellent location. It is in a quite neighbourhood, not in the hustle and bustle of the city yet close to all attractions. The breakfast was very good, served in a very well decorated restaurant with rich options. The room was very clean, well equipped with good amenities. The staff was very kind and friendly. They offered immediate help to fix a problem I had with my shoes. I had a very nice stay and will come back soon.

I guess to save energy and water, there is no need to change the table cloths in the restaurant after each guest. But still a very gentle and comforting habit.

From our room (279), it was a long walk to breakfast, over 125 metres along a corridor, then the stairs, then the return journey - nearly a third of a kilometre to/from breakfast. We dubbed it 'The Long Walk' (after Mandela) but it helped the appetite. Breakfast taken outside under a beautiful old 'Tree of Heaven' (Ailanthus altissima) - an excellent buffet. Fresh flowers and antiquities in the public areas. The room was spacious and comfortable with large windows, looking out on to a quiet road, next to a church - enjoyed the bells. The 'Concierge' who greeted us was a delight.

Hard to find any fault.

The breakfast was amazing! Big variety of food, lots of good coffee, very good bread and sausage. Everything was perfectly to my liking. I wasn't able to resist them! I also had a buffet lunch at the restaurant where I could taste Viennese cuisine, which was tasty and also cost-efficient considering the quality of food. The room was well-maintained, clean and quite spacious. Super convenient location. It was well-connected with trams and metro.

Wish there were slippers and some more amenities in the room. Body lotion and conditioner were missing. Shampoo didn't seem to be a good quality. Given the hotel's high class, I wish there were an electric kettle and some tea/coffee selection in the room, which are usually given in other hotels.

Location perfect as we prefer to be close to the city center and sites but do not want to walk out of the hotel and into the crowd . This hotel was ideal for that . The staff were wonderful ! Accommodating , friendly and made you feel like you were coming home when you entered ,were at breakfast or the bar! An incredible value for what you received and we truly mean this not to say this was a lower end hotel but this is a 4 star plus . We prefer character ,personality and charm over the glamour and extravagance of the Ritz or Park Hyatt and this was it !

The hotel is interesting as an historical place to stay. It is close to the city center. There is a tram station almost outside and bus/ train station pretty close. Yet, it is quiet enough. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was modern. The breakfast was great, from 6:30, which is good for early travelers. There is a bar where you can have a drink and a place where you are kindly let to leave your luggage for a while. The staff is helpful and there is a 24h reception. There are stores to buy water or snacks near by.

You could not feel in the room that this is a 4star hotel. There was no welcome bottle of water. There was no coffee/tea supplies in the room or the reception, so one could only have coffee for breakfast. There was only liquid soap application in the bathroom; for a hotel like this one could expect something more like hand or body lotion, hair lotion or a more intresting soap. The towels were not new and fluffy but hard and not fresh.
