Great hotel! After an initial mix-up with the rooms on check-in, we were quickly shown to our correct room, which was superb! The room was much bigger than expected, with an enormous fireplace and large bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I often struggle with hotel pillows but the bedding was great. The bathroom was long but not narrow, with plenty of space. The location was excellent; just a couple of minutes' walk from the Grote Markt. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to Brugge.

The door to the room had to be pushed firmly in order to close it fully. When we woke in the morning after our first night we noticed that the door was ajar as we obviously hadn't pushed it hard enough for the door to catch fully. Once we noticed the problem, we made sure to shut the door properly, but we were conscious that we were almost slamming the door to shut it, which would possibly have been heard by other guests.

We loved our stay here! Annie and daughter Yanni are excellent hosts, seeing to our every need (even trying to keep up with our American desire for ice!). Breakfast was very nice, served in either a beautiful dining room or outside on the terrace. Our room was lovely with an updated bath and a little balcony. The bedroom was air-conditioned, but, as in many traditional homes, there was no elevator, so be aware that you will need to navigate some stairs. The location of the hotel is perfect - close enough to the Markt and all the lovely Bruges attractions, but enough off the tourist path to not seem too busy. Dennis at the front desk recommended the restaurant Mozart, which is literally across the street, and a very delightful find. We highly recommend this hotel - and Bruges! - and if we are ever fortunate enough to come back, we would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location in the city center, very clean, large room, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast.

Some strange noises at night coming from the ceiling, even if nobody was accomodated upstairs - cracking wood probably, as the building was old ( like all the others in the historical city center) but a bit creepy in the middle of the night.

The staff (a wonderful lady with short red hair) really looked after us well. She was friendly, kind, efficient, and patient. She organised gluten free bread, and made fabulous cheese omellettes for breakfast. We were able to leave our luggage safely for the day, after we checked out. The bedroom and bathroom was stylish, immaculately clean, a credit to the housekeepers, who came in every day and also changed the towels and toiletries. The hotel had real character, was comfy, and was central. We loved our stay, thank you.

No milk in the room for tea and coffee sachets

Everything. Our room was some kind of attic, pretty much like a fairytale specially in somewhere like Brugge. Super neat. The wooden ceilings, the comfy bed, the windows and the natural lightning in the room. We had armchairs, a desk, a table and seriously LOTS of spaces to leave luggage. The vibe of the place at night was charming. The wardrobe was also great because it's nice to unpack even if you'll just stay for a day or two. The bathroom was large too and it had an out of this world bath which was the asset of the room. The staff was helpful and approachable. And the breakfast was full of options such as cereal, cakes, croissants, breads, eggs made on demand, fruits, yogurt, ham, cheese, jam, etc. The three nights we stayed haven't been enough for enjoying that breakfast :D The location was also great, Boterhuis is a really good deal and we would really choose it again

Because it was an attic, there was no lift so we (my boyfriend) had to carry our lugagge for two floors. The bath also could be a controversial point, but otherwise it was amazing.

A lovely hotel! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we return to Bruges. Located less than 5 minutes walk from the main Market Square, and around 20 minutes walk from the train station (be aware if you are pulling cases though that much of the walk is over cobbled streets and pavements), the hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the historic centre of Bruges. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious with a huge en-suite bathroom & shower. Breakfast was included in our stay with a wide variety of options, including eggs cooked to your liking, and was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. We were greeted on arrival by the very friendly owner who was happy to store our bags until our room was ready and gave us a map and some basic local information to get us started. There are a few excellent restaurants, bars and coffee shops within a few metres of the hotel which are well worth a visit, and probably better quality and value than most in Bruges! While our room was on the ground floor the stairs leading up and down to other rooms looked quite narrow and steep, so it may be worth requesting a room on this floor if you have mobility issues or large/heavy luggage to move! For quality, comfort, value and location this hotel ticks all the boxes and would be a good choice for anyone visiting this lovely city.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We asked that rooms be close together as we were travelling as a family, they complied with that request in fact we were in a little annexe. Very steep stairs within it but outher than that it was lovely. The car park was accessible, it is first come first served but we got a space no problem and it is just around the corner, the woman on the front desk came and sat in my car and directed me around the one-way system & it took just two minutes. The wifi worked well. Great location, right on the edge of the old town. Very pretty buildings. A few mins from the main square and 'that tower' :/ A great place, both the hotel and the city. Would certainly reccomend :)

My father and I went on a short trip of northern Europe. This was our last stop off and our absolute favourite hotel. We could not find fault. The rooms were large and extremely comfortable. The decor was beautiful throughout the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely. We were given a ground floor room, off reception - we didn’t hear any noise at all from the street/road or reception. Needless to say I wouldn’t think twice about staying here again.

It was not clear that the large double in the room was two singles pushed together when booking. We paid €30 for a separate single adding to the room as we were a father/daughter sharing a room. However, this did not affect our stay and so hasn’t impacted the score - we’ve learnt to ask more questions when booking :-)

Great location just a short distance north of the main square, but very quiet. (If you give the hotel name to the driver of the free shuttle that picks up in front of the train station, you will be dropped off close by.) Four-bed room we had was large, all beds comfortable, bathroom quite nice with large shower. Breakfast in basement was awesome. Front desk people extremely helpful and friendly, plus they gave out a great map for the entire city center.

Needed more lighting on spiral staircase. This staircase could be avoided by using the back stairs, but they really needed more lighting on the narrow spiral stairs to make it safer.
