Ibis Sofia Airport Hotel

Room was basic but comfortable.

Expensive restaurant for what it was. Also dirty toilet with turd it on arrival in the room. Perhaps.the cleaner got caught short and forgot to flush.

I had a REALLY bad experience in terms of things not working. There was no hot water, nor air conditioning, and it was HOT outside. This was mostly due to circumstances beyond control of the hotel manager, so, I get that. What was NOT good initially was that there was no communication, either spontaneously, or even when I asked for help "to make the air-con work"... and that was deeply disappointing. Just avoiding the topic does not make it go away! HOWEVER, the hotel manager, the next morning took responsibility, said sorry, and offered a FULL REFUND, without my even asking. So... a rare event these days, and most gratefully received. Mnogo blagodarya, Kristina!

See above - it's all tied up together There was one other thing: Ibis/ACCOR pretends towards sustainability... and yet, the level of chemicals in the room was OVERWHELMING! Stop it, please! The smells, the toxins... just appalling. One day, someone will have such a strong allergy that an ambulance will have to be called. And, the group should be far more vigilant about this kind of thing, and make it totally unacceptable!

I liked how cozy and neat the hotel was and also how polite the staff was. They gave us quick and clear answers to our questions, and we also received a free ride to the airport, which was more than great. The driver was so friendly & kind regardless of the early hour. I am confident that I will be there again in the near future. 😁

I can't think of anything that I didn't like about the hotel. Okay, maybe the food from their menu was a little bit pricey, but what can you expect? It's a hotel, after all and the food was delicious so I can't be too bothered.

I stayed here on the final night of a trip through Bulgaria, so that I could easily catch an early morning flight home. A couple of notes. In principle, you can walk to this hotel from SOF Terminal 1 - there is a park through which you can walk that takes you basically across the street, as long as that street is not busy at that hour, you can get across. They do have a shuttle, but you need to arrange for it in advance. Note that some bus lines will also drop you off at Terminal 1 if desired, and so for instance I was able to easily get to this airport from Veliko Tarnovo by bus and then to the hotel. They were great about having a shuttle for me and several other travelers catching early flights. The hospitality was very good. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The restaurant is actually very good - they made a lovely chicken kavarma and really good cheesecake. Overall, this was a great value and definitely met the need of an airport hotel.

No major complaints. They have a very small city charge that is apparently not included in the Booking fee. I almost paid by card and realized she was saying it was 0.80 Lev (about 40 EU cents or 50 US cents) and I paid in coins.

The room is a decent size. I have stayed here several times, so, I know what to expect. The bathroom is clean. There is a desk, good WiFi and places to hang your clothes, as well as a place to put your suitcase. There are even shelves for clothes if you stay for a longer time. This is the best choice for a hotel if you want to be near the airport and to leave your car while you travel. The cost of long lerm parking at the hotel is very competative with other off-site airport parking, plus there is free shuttle service to the airport. I had a very early flight so the hotel provided a "breakfast" for me to take to the airport.

I have found nothing negative about staying at this hotel.

I had a very good experience at the Ibis Hotel in Sofia. They have a free shuttle bus that takes you to the airport whenever you want, you just need to book in advance at the reception. It's nice because it's very quiet. You can sleep in a nice comfortable bed, they have good showers. They also have shampoo and shower gel. They also have good aircon and most of the time the hotel is quiet, so you can sleep well. They also have a restaurant with some good food as well. I'd like to thank the Ibis Hotel because they helped me when I needed to get home and I had some difficulties. The reception helped me and they also provided me with a breakfast pack, which included a muffin, 2 oranges, a water bottle and a cheese sandwich because my flight was at 6 o'clock in the morning and I had to leave at 4 am. But they had breakfast packed ready for me so I had it when I was at the airport waiting to check in.

This is a large hotel where a very small and friendly staff try their best to make you have a lovely time. There is free parking for 3 hours enough to drop your suitcase off before taking the car back to the airport. There is also parking at reasonable cost. The food in the restaurant area is good quality and hot if a little expensive. The breakfast is also well done for the number of guests. There is good WiFi. They are happy to greet you at any time of the day and it has a 24hour bar.

The hotel is in the middle of an fairly run down industrial area thus there is nowhere to take a walk to. There are no cafes, shops or restaurants in the area. The hotel says that it runs a free shuttle to the airport terminals every 20 mins. This seemed not to be correct, although when we visited the minibus was out of service.

Very close location to the airport and free airport shuttle. Clean room and bathroom.

Very small room, uncomfortable pillows, noisy - you can hear clearly the people talking in the nearby rooms and corridors.

The hotel is located super close to Sofia Airport's Terminal 1, it's within walking distance. It also offers cab rides to both terminals. The staff members I spoke with were kind and helpful. The room was quite small but had all the necessary commodities. It was clean and looked well maintained. Same goes for the bathroom. All the shared spaces, such as the elevator and hallways were also neat and clean. There was a good variety of options during breakfast. Overall, I am pleased and definitely recommend staying there.

There was a weird cigarette bud smell in the bathroom. Not strong but noticeable. It wasn't from an actual cigarette bud - I looked into the trash can and everywhere around but couldn't find where it was coming from. Other than that, all else was great!
