Fernie Fox Hotel

Clean bright decor, large bar fridge, in suite microwave oven, nicely furnished with plenty of USB charge ports. Common shared kitchen area, Hot tub hours, outdoor deck seating area and BBQ pit. ample clean parking, well lit building, eco-friendly green options and LED lighting. Excellent coffee in the lobby.

Air conditioners have limited control, very noisy. Shower faucet very finicky (old) to get the temp right/ safe, very hot building water temp. Shower head should be upgraded to low flow to meet your most eco-friendly hotel in BC Goal!

The room was large and everything was clean. Even though it was right next to the busy highway you couldn't hear the traffic which was great. The in-room fridge had a freezer which was handy for re-freezing ice packs for our cooler.

The room was renovated nicely, except for the carpet. It was a little over priced, but I think that was due to increased demand for a nearby event on the weekend. It's a little far from downtown for walking, but there is a path next to the highway that you can take if you want to make the trek.

You guys have nailed it. Marketing is on point. Sustainability is on point. Cleanliness on point (one of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in). The renovation of the old property is awesome - very well planned and the devil is seen in the detail (I am in the business). Others should follow your lead - you're clearly a market leader. Really impressive for a country hotel.

Nothing really. Balconies, a pool and a natural hot spring tub would kick this place out of the park.

Loved all the art work, their efforts to be as sustainable as possible, their shared spaces (kitchen, hot tub, patio/bbq), helpful staff, clean. The coffee bar at lobby was great instead of having to use small maker in room. Safe bike trail into town. Breakfast deal next door at Smittys. We will happily stay there again.

I appreciate that they are covid conscious but I found the smell of cleaning chemicals to be way to overpowering as the front entrance. I think they should just be using soap and water or something less chemically of they continue to clean constantly. Eventually an automatic outside door would be super helpful. I had a stroller, 4 yr old, and often an armful of luggage which was kinda tricky. We were allowed to take bikes into our room but with baby gear it would have felt too cramped. So, a better place to chain bike/chariot would have been great. Still worked out fine though. Great hotel.

The hotel hopes to be fully sustainable by 2025 and do not have any single use plastic on site at all and they use solar power for up to 45% of their power. Which is great to know they are doing their part to help the environment. The hotel was clean, hot tub area was super clean and tidy and even the bbq patio was very nice.

The beds in our room were not comfortable at all. They were too hard or lumpy. Did not sleep well.

The fox has a great mission statement to be a sustainable hotel by 2025. We loved the guest kitchen with all the gadgets, the free guest laundry and the proximity to DQ

The cleanliness of the room was the only thing I didn't like. There we're just one too many crumbs still around the around the edges of the carpet other than that the Fernie gets 10/10

We bought a voucher to have breakfast at Smitty's, which was good value and convenient. I would recommend buying the voucher but don't recommend the omelette. We were offered a room facing the back of the property, which was quiet. Nice to have a window to open. Good, free coffee and the staff at the front desk are exceptional.

I appreciated the staff’s friendliness ... customer service in many places has suffered the last two years, and now we’re expected to “settle for less.” But at Fernie Fox, all the staff went beyond the curt “hello, have a nice stay” type of greeting.

I thought it was too bad they charge $10 for a cot.

The staff is great! Super friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and dog-friendly, they even have a purpose built green space for dogs. The shared kitchen is amazing - a perfect amenity for people who want to be able to cook instead of go out to eat. The beds are very comfy and the hot tub is a plus. Felt very comfortable and safe here in covid times. Also liked the thoughtful eco-friendly touches. Would stay again!

Lovely stay. Room was clean, bathrooms clean, good bedding and towels. Hot tub was wonderful once again! Manager was super friendly and fun. Felt at home. Good times. 10/10 would recommend. Will come again
