Hampton Inn - Vancouver Airport/Richmond

It was clean and well kept in the rooms, ask for an extra bar soap and it seemed to be an inconvenience. We like to have one bar at the sink and one bar in the shower. Anything we asked for extra had to be thought about before it was given if at all. But the hotel looked nice from the room perspective as the rooms were clean and well kept

The hallways felt like you were in a horror story they were not wiped or cleaned they were very dingy and dark and scary. There's only one elevator and people were packed in. The area this hotel is located is very sketchy we felt uncomfortable leaving her vehicle outside. No secure parking.

Front desk staff was very friendly and responsive. We needed to check our bags after arriving from cruise ship earlier than check-in. She placed all bags in a secure location and retrieved them for us when it was time to check-in. She scheduled our trip to the airport on the van and gave us information about the pick-up procedure. She provided us with a local map and gave us instructions for walking to nearby shops.

I really can't think of anything that was wrong.

Great location, handy to Vancouver International Airport and very close to one of the city’s best cafe/restaurants, The Story Cafe. The room was ideal with plenty of space and it was wonderful to have a walk-in shower instead of one over a bath! The breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choioices, including hot food and a variety each day.

We were disappointed the in-house mask mandate had been lifted. The pillows lacked substance and were uncomfortable.

We're very glad we chose this hotel because it offers best value for momey. It's close to the airport and the train that takes you to downtown Vancouver in less than 30mins. Breakfast was delicious and rooms were great. The staff was especially nice and accommodating. We had a bit of a hiccup with housekeeping, but the general manager promptly fixed the issue for us. We would gladly return to this hotel again!

Only after booking did I receive a welcome message that stated that the check in registration desk closed at 11pm. This was NOT specified in the terms or hotel policies and certainly was not acceptable for us as we were arriving late by airplane. I contacted the hotel and they said they would stay open which was great but it made for some anxious moments which was unnecessary and unreasonable.

The room was clean and quiet. The beds were comfy and were pretty decent. It was a nice rooms with a big bathroom. It was a decent entrance areas and seemed to be a good place to stay. This place was about 3 blocks from Richmond night market, so it cna get busy in the area, but was far enought away that it was quiet.

Things were good in general. One issue was the breakfast, due to covid it was a bag breakfast that was very underwhelming. It was a egg (in a plastic) bagel, yogurt, cream cheese, and juice box. The eggs were boiled and pretty bland. The bagel wasn't toasted and was very dry. I ate mine, but my partner didn't eat hers. It wasn't a big deal, but we picked this place due to the breakfast mainly and it was disappointing. The staff member that was there had the bag breakfast behind the counter and you had to ask for them. It was a little weird, and also I think I read that there was water for guests, but I didn't see any in my room or at the front.

proximity to the airport was good. The shuttle service that was booked for us by the staff at checkin to the airport was efficient . Breakfast was good and food plentiful.

There was quite a bit of aeroplane noise, even with non open windows, and the curtains closed.

Location to the airport both the South Terminal and the Main Terminal. The room was clean and modern. Everything was easy to use and the beds were comfortable. I can honestly say I was expecting less for the price I paid. The breakfast was outstanding and way beyond what I thought would be available for the price of the room. Real waffles, scrambled eggs not cold boiled eggs. Having a shuttle to and from the airport was great even though I didn't use it as I had my car.

All in all a positive experience. The shuttle from the airport went well in both directions. Breakfast was good and the first time at a hotel that we'd had a full hot breakfast since covid, so that was a treat.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we’ve had at hotel ever.

I don’t think anything could be improved.
