Holiday Inn Express Stellarton-New Glasgow, an IHG Hotel

Breakfast was good there was lots to pick from and staff were really good to keep on top of refilling everything. The hotel was nice.

Every time we went in the pool we had to go and ask for towels Also we are a family of 5 and they only supplied us with 3 towels and face clothes so again I had to go and get more. We checked in and pre booked as a family of 5 so you would think they would have left 5 of each. I would have liked to see a phone book and maybe some menus in the room from some restaurants in the area. Some places have binders done up about things to do in the area.

Having a pool was a huge reason why we booked this hotel. It was on the smaller side but the waterslide didn't disappoint. Comfortable beds. It was nice to see a hotel being environmentally friendly using large pump bottles of shampoo and soap instead of individual. AC was a definite benefit it was a really hot weekend.

There were vending machines at the hotel but we couldn't get any cards to work on them. If the water slide was in use other guests had to move to the other end of the pool to avoid the splash off

The hotel well maintained with good access to the city center and TCH. There are plenty of parking spaces, the Wi-Fi is good and there are several restaurants within walking distance.

The breakfast serving area is under equipped for the number of guest that arrive between 8 and 9am. We stayed for four nights and every morning guest were lined up and frustrated with their inability to get toast and bagels in a timely fashion. This is no joke, folks would actually take other guests toast and be rude to one another. For the cost of a second toaster I can’t believe management ignores this issue.

Very nice pool, nobody was there when we went so it was perfect. We didn't spent much time in the hotel other than that but the beds were comfortable and the staff was nice as well. Especially the worker at the pool who turned the waterside on for us then later asked about it in the hall. Very nice.

During breakfast a number of people were coughing a lot. Given that i am immnocompermized, i decided not to eat. But that is the chance you take and is certainly not the hotels fault at all.

Wonderful staff, pleased with the room. Hotel was relatively easy to get to from the highway. Ample parking for visitors. Located very close to Wellness Centre. Ideal for anyone attending events there from out of area.

No USB connections in room. No visible EV charging stations. Guests in adjacent rooms partied late into the evening requiring a call to the front desk. Staff did deal with the situation. Hot breakfast (scrambled eggs) was cold coming off the hot plate

The location is very good, centrally located with lots of shopping venues and restaurants close by. The room was fine. I like that there was a microwave; not all motels provide one. And rhe pool was great, as well as the hot tub.

The bathroom fan didn't work ,so the room was quite fogged up. No USB ports for charging, thankfully I remembered to bring an adapter. It was disappointing to not be able to get our own breakfast. And the scrambled eggs were terrible. Dry cooked eggs that are chopped up do not pass for scrambled in my books ! They should be moist and whipped. And not even able to get your own coffee from a dispenser ? I know there are Covid measures in place but a lot of other hotels have better open breakfast areas.

Breakfast was excellent - nicely done with the egg dish and sausage, and it arrived very quickly.

Small thing - but the shampoo and conditioner in the shower were down to about an inch or less which makes it impossible to pump anything out, and you cannot get the things out, and of course by the time you realize this it is too late to call the front desk for more! I mentioned this to the guy at the front desk when I checked out, and suggested the cleaning staff need to be told that an inch in the bottom is not sufficient and they should fill these things up; I did not get the impression that the person at the front desk was going to do anything with my feedback; he did not seem to care, beyond suggesting that I should have called the front desk (which clearly you cannot do when you're already in the midst of your shower!).

The room was comfortable and clean, the wifi was reliable, the coffee machine was great, but the breakfast was astounding! We recently spent a month driving across Canada, and this was better than any 'included' breakfast we had during that trip - lots of hot and cold options to choose from, smiling staff refilling everything, and a very pleasant room to eat in.

The price was quite high (of course, we knew that before we went).

Pool deck wasn’t clean even first thing in the morning. No towels at the pool first thing in the morning and when asked the front desk for the second time was told they were dropped off, when I said they weren’t because we were there for the last 30+ minutes were told there was no towels. So we had to walk back to our rooms wet, 3 year old slipped on the floor because we were wet

The location of our hotel was excellent in its environs. With the addition of area-wide, newly constructed commercial buildings, we also had shopping, errand and eatery choices aplenty. We arrived with a pre-approved, later, hassle free check-in. It was just before a province wide snow storm. On alert, the hotel staff, especially the front desk, warmly welcomed guests. The team, including food services, acted like clockwork with genuine friendly Pictou County-style charm. Information, breakfast replenishment service, whatever we found we needed; plus values all-in-all were met and/or exceeded. Simply A1 and ever-so-ready; this would sum it up nicely. Even the snow removal on the site was well executed both on the main road, hotel entrance areas and footways. Once inside, we were coming and going easily in a well designed building. In a breezy locale, it had ample front lawn space and parking areas. The larger room with an additional dining/seating area was a good lay-out. The room was stocked full. But if we had been in need of any related housekeeping service, the hotel team was never far from task. Enhanced COVID-19, health and safety measures were in the plus ranges, too. Inviting us back, we will be there soon.
