Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn

This Best Western is almost always a pleasant, comfortable experience. Great people on reception, super-clean and relatively comfortable, well-equipped rooms, decent internet, lots of parking close to rooms, etc. It delivers a good, reliable experience almost every time. (Exception might be when there are kids' hockey tournaments and similar events going on in town when halls can fill with excited and noisy kids but this did not happen on this occasion. And I usually call and check before arrival.)

Small complaint but I do find the pillows lumpy. Try to remember to take my own but for short stays don't want to bother.

Great location the place was clean freindly staff at check in and out....our room was quiet we had access to deck with sliding doors on lower level and there was a river like steps away from our deck... you can fish right off the dock they have....they also had free breakfest which was yummy lots to choose from.... loved that there was a pool and hot tub..there was vending machine on site to buy snacks or pop and a ice machine... we enjoyed our stay here and will be going back un future hopefully to get a river view room again or even same room we had....

Great rooms, loved the deck and view. Relaxing and cozy, great breakfast in mornings- lots of options. Room was spacious and comfortable with everything needed. I was very pleasantly surprised- we have stayed at the other 3 hotels in Peterborough including the Hampton and this was by far the best stay we have had.

My only complaint was that there was no night light in the bathroom - hard to see in the dark and the main light way too bright to have on in the night and patio screen door stuck so difficult to open and close.

Breakfast good. Nice to sit outside on the patio watching ducks, goslings and kayakers on the peaceful creek flowing by. Loved the bedding in the rooms - where do you get their “thin, light” duvets and the beautiful light weight honeycomb type fabric top bed covers.!??? Nicely appointedrooms - had everything one needed to be comfortable.

Air conditioner units in rooms are a bit noisy - but that’s often the way in lots of hotel rooms. We sure appreciated the A/C ! - we were visiting Peterborough in 32degree + weather!

Not only is this the most appealing hotel in Peterborough but altogether one of the most satisfying accommodations at which I have ever stayed, anywhere. Though I booked a regular room and not a suite, I nevertheless enjoyed the benefits of both a balcony overlooking the water channel that runs right by the property and a fireplace — one that was fully functional and not just aesthetic. (In fact, I shut off the central heating system and warmed my room solely via the fireplace, which was a very pleasant experience.) The rooms here couldn’t be more agreeable: spacious yet cozy, elegant yet comfortable, furnished in warm colours and featuring wonderful wall-to-wall carpeting rather than cold tile or hardwood flooring. The overall effect is an inviting, home-away-from-home feeling. In addition to a customary fridge, every room comes equipped with a microwave — an amenity that is not to be taken for granted. The breakfast is notably superior to the usual continental fare and even comes with a warm offering — which, when I stayed here, was a plate of delicious mini-pancakes. Parking is free and abundant, and because the hotel has multiple entrances, one can always park by a door near to one’s room.

I have no negatives to report; not a single one, other than perhaps the fact that the nearest supermarket is a considerable walk away. This hotel is well-night perfect; far better than one would ever expect to find in Peterborough. Would that every city could boast a lodging as pleasant as this.

Location worked well while visiting family in Peterborough. I travelled from London. Price was fair and room was clean. I did enjoy the continental breakfast as well. I appreciated being able to book a room as I couldn't find many available unless I was booking a two night stay. I only needed one night stay.

You could hear neighbours between walls. Every time the water tap was used, toilet flushed and shower/bath water turned on it was loud, waking me up throughout the night. While sleeping, it was cold in the room and the heater didn't work. There was no extra blanket in the closet. I surrounded myself with the extra pillows to stay warm.

The lovely breakfast, I liked it but I have a suggestion ; if you add tomato and cucumber to your buffet it could be perfect as the juicy texture of tomato and freshness of cucumber brings more taste to your delicious buffet and makes it complete. The location is great , the architect of the area and its river view reminds me of European hotels . I had one of my best stay in there . Thanks a lot 🌹

No complain

Room was very nicely appointed, bathroom in particular is nicely done (lots of nice towels, proper lighting). Staff were most helpful and cheerful. I reported a table lamp which was in need of a minor repair, and they wrote it down, thanked me for telling them about it, and even made a joke about the lamp having 'a screw loose'.

Not enough electrical and/or charging points for this day and age. I could not find a spare plug near the bed for a heating pad, and charging phones/laptops happened mostly around the coffee pot.

The room itself!!

The long delay to get into the room....worked an overnight the night before needed sleep requested an early check in... and had to be somewhere at 2pm...the people that were in there before checked out for 11am and I got a call saying my room would not be ready til 1245pm for it takes a while to clean the room! I was disappointed by how much I was not a priority! Anyways I enjoy staying at the best western and the room was amazing when I got there...which was late!

The river view from the bedroom and the breakfast. The breakfast options were simple and sufficient for me. I like that the main breakfast on offer was wrapped-up and could be taken away. I also liked that fresh fruits were available.

Since the main breakfast option was pre-wrapped I could not ask for a bacon free option. When the shower in the next room was turned on, the rush of water woke me up.
