Melsask Motel

No breakfast available and if it were, the price for a room would go up. Everything you need to make a cup of coffee is here, perhaps a bit more sugar and whitener would be nice seeing as how there was enough coffee supplied to make 2 pots, I use a lot of sugar in my coffee, so I was only able to have 2 cups and poured the rest of the coffee out before leaving. To be fair, there WERE 5 sugar packets....but hardly enough for 2 POTS of coffee, let alone a 3rd cup in my case. Towels, soap, phone book, TV channel guide were all as you would expect and not worthy of any further mention.

The strike plate on the door frame was loose....Not the most secure scenario and requires some attention. However, there appear to be security cameras on site so perhaps the management is satisfied with guest security as far as unauthorized entry is concerned?

We needed a place to stop over last minute on our trip from Ontario to BC and found the Melsask. I don't stay at many motels, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but decided to trust other reviews. I'm glad i did, the room (while a bit dated, but that's not really a real concern anyway) was very clean and put together. There was an AC unit which was great as it was 30 degrees out when we arrived. Check in was easy and quick, and the manager/owner was very kind. The wifi was not great but for one night it wasn't a huge deal for us. Would definitely stay again if needed, and would recommend to anyone needing a quick stay!

After a long day of driving, I was so glad to get to Melsask Motel. All the reviews I had read promised a comfortable stay and it was exactly that. Jing met me in the office, checked me in and then showed me to my room, even offering to help carry my bag! It was within walking distance to Sushi Garden restaurant (also another gem of a find - eat here!), had a cozy bed and lots of hot water for a relaxing bath - and all for an incredibly reasonable rate. I wish there were more old style motels like this still around - reminds me of the Rosebud Motel from CBC's "Schitt's Creek". Definitely stay here! Thank you Jing!

I thought this place was wonderful. I stayed for 4 nights and EVERY day they cleaned my room. this is my 3rd week staying in hotels for nights and no other business did this. The staff (which my limited interactions with them) were awesome. they were kind considerate and accommodating. I highly recommend it to people travelling through.

Exceptional value! The rooms are not overly pretty and the bathroom is a bit old, but everything is provided and works well. Have cycled across Canada and this is the best value place I’ve stayed in.

It was a little way from the fast food places and supermarkets, but very quiet as a result.

This was a wonderful stay. Don’t let the low price fool you. I had a calm peaceful stay in a very clean and comfy room. I’ve paid more to stay at luxury hotels that were dirty. Melsask Motel is super clean with great daily housekeeping. What a gem in a quiet place. I was so impressed that I extended my stay one more day.

Last night a little noise from room 24 next door, but bearable. Morning of departure, disturbance from room 22. Mentioned to owner. All else was great!

When our dates changed twice on the day before check-in, their staff cheerfully agreed to change our reservations. The room is perfect for our needs so when we asked to stay a 3rd week, they cheerfully agreed & gave us an excellent deal!!

The location was fantastic close to everything. The owner was very friendly, polite helpful asking if we needed anything. There was nothing laying around to make it look uncared for. The rooms cleaned every day, refilled coffee, sugar and whitener.

Good, clean,tiny room. No critters of any kind. On the down side, there was really no place for my stuff. I like to hang bags, they did have a couple hooks on the wall. There was no luggage foldup, I had to put my luggage on the 2nd bed or on the floor. Aircon was a recirculating fan... lucky it wasn't 30c. Staff very nice. I stayed 3 nights. Slept well.
