Comfortable beds, a hot shower, and a well functioning air conditioning unit on the wall. There is an attached restaurant (Piura) that is owned by the same folks that own the hotel, so that’s where breakfast happened. We had breakfast once and it was a fine experience overall, great and spacious atmosphere but nothing remarkable about the food. We would have eaten there every day but our tour pickup times were usually too early. But there are a bunch of walkable places nearby, including a pretty good Soda (Costa Rican joint where some locals eat). Plenty of parking in the area and generally a good location. There is a grocery store (Super Cristian 4), laundry service and a handful of restaurants within about a 5 minute walking radius. If you want to go to downtown La Fortuna it’s about a 20 minute walk, that isn’t a smooth path, and I would not recommend doing at night. We walked it a couple of times during the day and it was fine, walked it one direction at night and decided not to do that again. Nothing happened but there are some long periods of fairly isolated and dark areas along a road that just doesn’t make sense to save money. A taxi each way was about $6 and took 5 minutes. One more point on the location. Though it wasn’t super close to the downtown it was WAY better than what we saw most families dealing with at the more resort-like properties. Many of the fancy resorts are so far outside of town you really have no choice but to shuttle/taxi/drive everywhere you want to go. I’m sure there are some exceptions but after watching people get dropped off at those places during our tours I preferred our location for the convenience of walking outside and exploring various hole-in-the-wall restaurants. If you want a resort where you can spend most of your vacation with other travelers, this isn’t that type of place. Oh lastly, there was a beautiful and clean pool that we never used.

The view from our patio/room (number 6) area wasn’t exactly of the volcano due to the amount of foliage between us and the volcano but it was still a very secluded feeling, so no complaints. It was also missing the sign for the property, reportedly due to a recent car accident, so that made it a little tougher for some of the shuttle services to find. Not really a big detector and should only be a temporary issue.

The property is located near lots of restaurants and stores. The pool area is really nice and the rooms are VERY spacious. You also have a nice spacious sitting area with your room. The restaurant is nice and breakfast was always good and filling. The pictures don’t do this location any justice. It was also really quiet. They were really kind enough to do a quick and simple birthday decoration for my friend on his bed :) There is a restaurant across the street that has really great fried fish with rice, laundry service and a conviene store across the street as well. Beside the hotel is a lively art gallery you can stop by and purchase art from local artist. There is also a great ice cream shop across the street as well everything is in walking distance but if you happen to need a cab they will arrange it for you. You can purchase bikes on the property to use for a few hours or a full day as well. Overall really great trip. BEAUTIFUL view on the volcano! Enjoy your stay!

No complaints. Everything was great.

Really wonderful cabins set back from the main road with lots of bird spotting opportunities. Pool was nice and cleaned daily, and the staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. The cat Estella was also lovely. From the poolside we saw huge iguanas, two toucans, lots of other birds and some squirrels so it was a great spot to relax after doing different activities.

It’s not the easiest to get around without a car so I would recommend this property for those travelling with cars only! Quite close to the road so quite noisy with vehicles. Breakfast choice a little limited if you are staying for more than 2 days. Shower was cold 90% of the time.

The staff was helpful with scheduling tours/activities, the room was spacious, clean and the mattress was great quality. The AC worked excellent. The breakfast was amazing and dinner in same site provided quality dinner, prepared by a chef. Overall, the staff are kind and very personable. The location is great because it’s the best of both world near the end of the town (nearby restaurants/shops) and private secluded rooms nestled in the back property where you experience the beauty of Costa Rica.

Recommend: hammocks and hot tub but it is only a recommendation not a dislike.

Nice good size room not cramped at all. Large bathroom with spacious shower and sink area. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Decent breakfast not bad not fabulous. Breakfast staff was great.

Hard to find at night since signs are not lit up… if checking in after 9 the restaurant staff will help with reaching a reception person. No signs nor mention of limited check in times. Aside from that all was great.

This was a nice stay not too far from town, but nice and quiet. We had a couple tours and they picked us up easily from here. Breakfast in the morning had great views, nice company, and great staff. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed.

The power went out a few times while we were staying here, which happens, but on the last day, when we were packing up, the power was out for over an hour.

Our stay on the hotel was a great experience, although the channel selection on the TV was very limited, we would have liked to have an Android or Roku TV to stream content directly from our phones. The bed and bathroom are terrific! they are very conformable and spacious.

The reception is in a separate building that is too far away from the cabins and you have to walk at least 200 meters to reach the front desk from the room ( we stayed at the one that was furthest from it ), so it's not safe to go outside during the night or while it's raining, although there a phone to call for room service and food, anyway bring a poncho or umbrella if you're visiting during the rain season.

Staff members were amazingly helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and spacious with good AC. The wifi was incredibly fast (I think I got about 90 Mbps down)! There are a couple very interesting shops and restaurants within walking distance and several restaurants; definitely check out the wood carving shop. Staff will help you reserve tours from the front office, and you can be picked up right there.

It would have been nice to have a desk lamp or lighting near the desk.

The room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The shower was good and everything very clean. The garden setting is very beautiful and we saw lots of exotic birds including a toucan. We sat out on the porch a few mornings to relax. The walk to the town is about 25 mins but there are closer restaurants too. The breakfast was good too! Really enjoyed our stay here.

Rooms were private, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Our rooms were very clean, staff was super friendly and the included breakfasts at the Piura restaurant were better than expected. Also, the Wifi was maybe the best we had while in Costa Rica! We would stay there again if in the area for sure.

The locks on the doors were tricky, not too secure. The pool was being remodeled while we were there but the property arranged use at a nearby hotel for its guests.
