Grand Hôtel Du Lido

The air conditioning was AMAZING! It was super hot in France, and great AC was much appreciated. I also loved being right on the beach. The staff was very nice and that dog Mayo was the bomb diggity!!

The hotel does not allow guests to take drinks from the bar onto the private beach area. I think this is a terrible mistake and a lost income opportunity for the hotel. Many resorts provide service to their beach - food AND drinks. This is not offered at Hotel Lido and it's a huge loss. It made me leave the beach a lot sooner than if there had been an opportunity to eat and drink. Just buy some plastic dishware if you're worried about breakage on the beach! Come on, Hotel Lido. Get it together!

Location was excellent, close to Collioure, beautiful quiet beach. But watch out for very deep sea. Unless you have a level 5 in professional swimming, don't even think going more then two metres from the shore especially during windy days. Food during dinner time was excellent.

Room which was given to us was on the worst side and level, just above the noisy hotel kitchen and overlooking a car park. It was really awful. Most of the other guests (French speaking!!!) were allocated rooms on the other side of the hotel building, overlooking a quiet, nice looking pool area. Breakfast - very narrow choice. In short: bread, croissants, jams, some slices of ham.

The room was fantastic, very well decorated for such an older property. I loved the sixties vibe that was updated very nicely. The location sur le Mer was amazing. We were originally booked for the Annex, which is across the busy street away from the beach and the other hotel services. I asked to be upgraded for 90/per room upon check in and we lucked out. It as a fantastic room. I would highly recommend this location, just not the Annex.

There was not one salad offering on the dinner menu. I found that to be strange.

Very nice atmosphere, good pool, perfect location just on the beach. Very beautiful sea view from the room! It really worth it's money. Free ok parking for guests. Room was newly refurbished and looked fresh.

Old style key from the room with big and heavy trinket which doesn't feet into lady's bag. Not very good designed beach club, no bar there. 2 sunbeds+ umbrella=24 euro. But if you will go 400 meters right there will be much better beach club for the same money. Room was quite small, but I guess for France is very common thing.

Fabulous location, right on the beach

Disappointed the hotel removed their private beach facilities after a couple of days Despite all precautions - emailing ahead to advise I have coeliac and am allergic to gluten, checking every single course of every single meal, I was served food that contained gluten. That night I was very sick. The hotel apologised when I advised them in the morning, but I really didn't feel they took it seriously.

Great sea view. Bathroom clean, wonderful pool brilliant breakfasts (included) Excellent restaurant in the hotel and others nearby as well, lots of staff, very helpful, Fridge in room decent location and car parking.

Hard bed. Fight to get towels with cleaner sometimes!

The bathroom: tiny cupboard for toilet and small cage like shower cubicle which did not reflect the high standards of the rest of the property. Not many restaurants in the vicinity

fabulous location and very clean . Room ok but thought we were getting a terrace and not a balcony

Dinner was ok and expensive . We went across the road to the fish restaurant which was lovely. Expensive drinks and breakfast . Not worth it and went up the road to cafe and had coffee and croissants instead . very very hard bed!!

Friendly staff and the hotel is sited at the quieter end of the town yet its an easy walk to the centre and harbour along the front. The beach is yards away
