Pullman Bordeaux Lac

EVERYTHING! We booked for connecting rooms, but got upgraded to lake view room (not connected) which is perfect! The beds are comfortable and room is big. View is superb. Location is perfect, just in front of tram stop to go to Bordeaux center but no noise at all! Also close to shopping area (good korean restaurant there). Pool (outdoor) is good too. I dont think the water is heated but it was during a hot day so it was ok to swim. Kids love it! We ate at the restaurant at the hotel too, it was good! Staffs are super helpful with all request & questions we have. Parking (paid) on location so it is handy and we can leave the car after we check out till late. Super recommended!

Reception and Staff: 10/10 super smooth checkin and out, gave us room on arrival even though we were early. Ground floor lounge / Bar: 10/10 Although away from centre the tram is just outside. 15min to get to downtown, they run every 10-15 mins. Parking was efficient and easy. Room was spacious and clean. Exceptional lake view. Comfy bed. Great workspace area. Slippers and dressing gown included is always a plus.

1st floor looked barren, like it had been abandoned. This was on route towards the outside area. Very small walkway leading towards the pool that had broken glass on floor (seemed very out of place compared to the rest of the facilities)

We went there on the way down to Spain as we have always been very interested to find out about the period when that large area of France was ruled from England. UK. Neither of us can actually remember anything at all about the hotel but the hotel must be excellent for both of us to feel that good after the long drive from Bordeaux to Valladolididdydod. I’m almost certain that we must have been hypnotised on arrival as we cannot remember anything whatsoever about our stay. The only clue was when we were driving out of Bordeaux my wife woke me and said I’d been asleep and groaning with a slight smile and that a custard like substance was pouring out of the corner of my mouth onto my hand knitted tank top. Crazy.

I just can’t remember it’s all a blank.

Disabled parking at no extra charge. The room was very spacious, we asked for a shower chair/stool which they provided was actually waiting in the room for us, for us was an added bonus. Breakfast was okay, plenty of bread and meats, fresh fruit etc.

Very disappointed, not only with this hotel but others as well, we specifically booked as they have a restaurant on site, when we booked in we asked to book a table in the restaurant to be told that the it was closed Saturday and Sunday, so very disappointed. We could order through room service, wasn't what we wanted as we would have liked that break from driving and as being disabled we didn't have to leave the hotel.

Peace and quiet as the road that runs past hotel road is not busy. Hotel is carpeted so no echoing footsteps above you or outside in corridor. Pleasant and helpful staff. The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely lake view. Good shower and decent soaps etc. Excellent selection of comfortable pillows for great sleep and good AirCon. Good choice at breakfast and nice outside terrace to sit. Good coffee. Enjoyed the pool, which is a decent size and deep enough to dive in. Tram stop right outside the door. Grimbergen beer on draft is a plus!

The area round the pool could do with more attention to cleanliness and the pool bar was a bit hit or miss. It is maybe a bit far out from city but tram is so close-by that that is a very minor inconvenience.

We have stayed here many times, for a stopover en route from UK to Spain. It’s a perfect location, just off the motorway with a lake opposite for our dog to run around after being cooped up in the car for 9 hours.

There is generally nothing to dislike, however this time we got very little sleep because of a Rave in the Park that went on until 3am. I realise this was nothing to do with the hotel and outside of their control. But after a 600 mile drive , and with another 600 mile day looming, we needed to sleep.

We were with friends on a visit to Bordeaux and we all liked the comfort and location of this hotel very much as well as the helpful and efficient staff at Reception. The rooms were a good size and the bathrooms were equipped with everything we required. The beds were very comfortable thus ensuring a good night's sleep. The convenient location of the tram stop just opposite the hotel meant that we could leave our car safely in the hotel car park (for 8.50 Euros per day) and travel into the centre of Bordeaux quickly and stress free. The city's 48-hour transport ticket for 9 Euros per person was good value. We made good use of it on the trams, buses and shuttle boat from the Cité des Vins back to the centre.

We didn't take breakfast in the hotel as there was a coffee machine and kettle in the room for hot drinks but we did eat a simple dinner in the hotel restaurant on our first night. The food was good but we found that the menu was rather limited in the choice of dishes it offered.

We liked the pool area, though the bar wasn’t operational which was disappointing. It is a busy area most days with a lot of kids around!

The pool area is accessible from a kind of empty function room floor with big empty space. There probably could be a better way to integrate or change access to the pool area. The gym could be bigger and better equipped and integrated with the pool area too. I ordered the ‘romantic option’ for €50, with petals, balloons and a box of small desserts. I thought the desserts were a bit of a waste and for that price they could have thrown in a bottle of wine which would have been better!

The property was very family friendly, a big downstairs area where the children could play pool, football or the piano. There was a pool onsite too, which was great for the children. The tram line outside took you straight into the city centre in about 15mins and is extremely cheap it use.

The staff (other than the check in staff on reception) seemed like they needed more help. At the pool bar the gentleman had to lock everything up and leave it unattended when he had to get food. The drinks fridge at the pool was half full so he couldn’t offer everything that was on the menu. The same at the downstairs bar, they bar staff were often missing and off doing another job.

General location of the Hotel was amazing, both by taxi and public transport. A Bus and Tram line are just outside the Hotel which made exploring of town a very convenient experience. I got upgraded from Garden View to Lake View and the view was amazing, seeing the sunset over the lake really was amazing. Room was big and spacious with several seating options. For first morning I ordered Breakfast in bed, the ordering app made this quiet easy and it was excellent.

I was surprised to find out on arrival that the swimming pool was still closed, granted it was just starting of the season and i might have missed that notification so i am hoping to explore it on my next visit.
