ibis Styles Chalons en Champagne Centre

This booking was for one night during travelling home. I thought I was booking a typical ibis hotel - on an industrial estate, nearby grill restaurant - the usual. What a surprise! In the centre of Chalons en Champagne, by all the restaurants, bars and activity on a Friday night - excellent. The decor was attractive, a bit 'funky'. Very clean, excellent bathroom and shower. Parking was a worry at first because I hadn't realised I had to book it in advance (moral - read all the small print!). But the man on reception sorted it with their underground parking for 8 Euros - a daily rate. Breakfast was also an excellent buffet including freshly squeezed orange juice. The coffee was a bit bitter for our taste but maybe that is typical French flavour. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for location, facilities and style.

There was one niggle which could irritate some guests. It did irritate me. There were no instructions for working the tv. The remote control was missing. I went to reception and they gave me a remote. It didn't work. I gave up. Could do better on this one.

This is our third time staying at this hotel and it doesn't disappoint. It is in a fantastic location right on the central square of Chalons-en-Champagne. the rooms are good and comfortable and the breakfast, whilst being "canteen" style is plentiful. There was a concert going on the night we were there but our room was still relatively quiet. We arrived by motorbike and had the added advantage of being able to park right outside. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the square outside and they suit all budgets from Champagne bars to pizza shops.

We liked the central location, the underground parking, the choice of breakfast, the simple but well proportioned and comfortable rooms ... our room faced onto the busy square which had a music festival going but we slept peacefully and comfortably thanks to efficient windows and black out curtains. Impressed.

It was all good. For an overnight stop it was perfect.

Very central location with secure underground parking. (Well worth the extra charge). Comfortable bed. All linen good quality and well presented. Extremely clean. Overall a good base from which to explore an interesting city.

The dreadful hairdryer so loved by these places. Staff at breakfast standing around, drinking juice and messing with their phones didn't give a good impression.

Good central location, we stayed on a Sunday night so parking outside was free but hotel does have an underground car park. Nice choice of restaurants nearby for evening meal and close to the park if you want to go for a walk.

The Sat nav directions couldn’t find the car park entrance which is on a different street at the back of the hotel. Specific Sat nav locations would make life a lot easier.

Location is in one of the towns squares, surrounded by bars & cafe's. Reception staff very good. Room was good with an excellent shower. Access to the garage was direct from reception. There is a good selection of restaurants a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast was good

Great location in centre of town, although our room was at front so was a little noisy from bars close by. Really good breakfast. Excellent staff.

Wasn't completely clear how to find the parking - we ended up parking in the square opposite

This is the second time we have stayed and have booked again for August. The location of the hotel is excellent for all restaurants and bars and the nearby Champagne town of Epernay which is well worth a visit. Breakfast is adequate and tasty. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Nothing, everything was to our liking

Location is right at the heart of the town, close to sights and restaurants. No fuss check in and good modern room. 3 hours from Calais so good stop off.

Parking was a bit tricky as they were fully booked - so book your parking space ahead of time. (staff helpful in suggesting where to park).

Good IBis Styles well maintained. Good room, large bed, en suite, air con, TV. vet central surrounded by cafes, bars and shops

Live Music until late in the square below preventing an early night. Could not connect to free WiFi so used 4G. Aircon was noisy so had to turn it off.
