Sure Hotel by Best Western Calais Coquelles Tunnel s/ Manche

Staff efficient and friendly both in evening and morning. Recently refitted and decorated. Excellent viennoiserie and coffee at breakfast: croissants, pains au chocolat, tarte aux pommes. Good heated towel rail in bathroom. Plumbing and hot water perfect. Not much condensation in bathroom. Lighting good. Good bedside tables. Heating good and totally quiet. Curtains efficient completely dark. Good clothes hanging provisions. Very quiet. Comfy mattress. Comfy pillows. Silky smooth sheets. Parking easy abundant and secure. Magnetic key worked well. All codes given from the outset. Wifi worked well and easy to set up. Good décor. Large choice of restaurants within walking distance and more within a short driving distance. District quiet ad safe.

This room was smallish but we had been offered the choice of booking a bigger room and a much bigger room for not much more .

Friendly, businesslike welcome. Nice interior to property. Restaurant a few metres away gives 10% discount to hotel guests (you'd pretty much have to use it anyway because there's nothing else around - nice meal.) The hotel has a patch of grass outside with tables and chairs for a good-weather drink. There's also a small but pleasant indoors sounds and bar. Breakfast was fine. Parking is secure and the fenced-in environs are secured by a high gate that closes around 9 or 10 pm (guests have a code.) This was an overnight stop for us before getting a ferry to UK. As such it was excellent. Very good and VFM. HM

Took a while to find it but that was probably our fault.

Breakfast, very good. Liked being able to boil my own egg! Telephone call from staff when we were almost there to check when we were going to arrive.

Bathroom very small (but adequate). Kept bumping my arm - and I`m not very big. I know we could have paid more for a bigger room but we are O.A.Ps. and this cost is quite enough when we are en route for another destination. Room was quite hot when we arrived but bathroom was cold. The other way round would have been better. Although we requested 2 single beds, if the beds stayed as single ones but were placed together there would be much more room on either side for the inevitable night time visits to the bathroom. But not really complaining.

Location is great for the Euro tunnel.... The staff were great and the reception must have asked many times if my wife and I needed help with luggage. Very Attentive. The room was very good value..... Breakfast was certain okay but not exceptional.. (Please note that this is not a complaint as it was fine for the price!) Good restaurant next door

Internet was not in my room good enough to stream a movie which these days not so good. No huge issue but might be on another occasion... Our room hair dryer did not work. BUT on balance this hotel is great!

Lovely clean room with everything you need including a good hairdryer. Great breakfast with the food being constantly brought out. Friendly staff. Nice bar and reception area. Location is excellent for the shops and restaurants and we stayed three nights and drove all around. The Calais beach is good too. Bruges is a nice day out. It is our third stay in this hotel.

I needed a stop off point before heading home the following morning on Eurotunnel. Excellent location for this but also the fact it's close to retail park with restaurants and shops including an Auchan supermarket.

An external photograph on the listing would really help! I struggled to find it. My satnav took me past it and suggested it's location was on my right, nothing. Upon checking Apple Maps on my phone it pointed me to the right location. I actually drove past it but it's appearance didn't suggest a Best Western Hotel. It's all fenced off with a large gate. I eventually spotted a very small sign on the gate post. Upon leaving the following morning there was a large "hotel" sign in blue lights but I didn't notice it upon my arrival. It may be it's only turned on some of the time.

Good value hotel within 15 mins of the eurotunnel. Rooms were small but recently refurbished to a good standard with tea and coffee in the room. Good soundproofing between floors but a bit of bathroom noise from next door rooms. Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good for the price. Easy to access out of manned hours and plenty of parking.

Bathroom was tiny with an unnecessarily large bath when a shower would have made better use of the space. No evening restaurant in the hotel and very few options in walking distance

Although the room was small it was tastefully decorated and had everything you would need for an overnight. Tea/coffee/kettle, bottle of water, good shower, comfortable bed and pillows, ample free secure parking. The staff were especially friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful. The area is very quiet, only a short walk from the Fort and 10mins from Eurotunnel. I will definitely stay here again.

My only real criticism is the lack of soundproofing between the rooms, you can hear everything from adjoining rooms as if it were in your own! However on this occasion it was not a problem as the other guests were pretty quiet.

The location of the hotel is excellent for access to the channel tunnel, just a 5 minute drive. The rooms are small but very functional and clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom has everything you need, there was a kettle, tea and coffee and there is a good size flat screen TV. The receptionist was very friendly and spoke English (a big plus as we don't speak much French). Overall, excellent value for money and would stay here again when travelling from France to England via the channel tunnel.

There's no air con, although there is a heater. The heater works well, a little too well as I got very hot, so we opened the window and there was a fair bit of noise from outside as it was a Saturday night. We did get an email with the exit code for the gate, but it would have been useful to get that on paper when we checked in as we didn't see the email and we had to return to reception to help us get out. The building looks a bit old from the outside but is very nice inside.

Good location, beds and bedding excellent. Very quiet, great sound insulation, good temperature.

Location given on Apple maps has address as 1 Charles de Gaul, but that’s a hardware shop further along the street and on the other side of the road. I don’t know how you get that fixed, but it was a major issue after a 12 hour drive. The hotel is not well sign posted and easy to miss as you drive along the street. Shower screen on bath leaked heavily onto floor. Mirror on inside of toilet door unnecessary, as there’s a mirror on the hall wall opposite the door. Who likes to watch themself on the loo?
