Hotel de l'Orme, Akena

This was our second stay at this hotel, booked since I'd written a good review two years ago. And it is still a good place to enjoy the town of Évreux. All the facilities you would need in a clean and spacious room at a good value price. Perfect location within the town which supports lots of restaurants. Breakfast was good and the reception was welcoming. Easily parked the car next to the hotel which from 18.00-10.00 next day cost €0.90. This was a one night stopover. I should mention that on our outward journey we spent a night in a hotel in the Netherlands that cost twice as much and had miserable facilities plus €14 to park the car.

All was good!

Night-time free parking easily available in the street outside the hotel; &, failing that, there was a huge free parking lot within easy walking distance. Hotel within easy walking distance from city centre, which was full of bars & restaurants, & of course the shopping streets. National newspapers free at the desk. Day-time receptionist, Ouarda, was very helpful -- & , as it happens, particularly charming.

Staff were so helpful. We asked about storing our bikes on the car overnight. The member of staff said it was generally safe but was happier to suggest that we store the bikes inside the hotel just in case. We then told her that we had six mountain bike on the car!! She could no have been more helpful.

Decor is a little tired but the staff on reception and the housekeeping made up for it.

It was quiet. Nice restaurants / bars within walking distance if you are lucky and they are open (depends on the day of the week).

As we live in the U.K. it is a standard that even basic room rooms have kettle (if you fancy tea), however they offer breakfast in the morning or there is a market where you can purchase anything.

Very smart room and en suite. Room 109. Very fresh and nice decor. Right in city centre very close to cathedral. Free parking on street on the Sunday night until 9am on Monday. Very helpful front desk.

Decor in hallway a little tired.

The breakfast was adequate for the price. We were impressed with the price of our 1 night's stay.

Though advertised as having a restaurant we arrived to find there wasn't one. However, there are a few eating places within walking distance.

The staff were extremely accommodating, and welcoming. Some of the rooms needed updating, but those that had been updated were done to a very good standard.

For me here as in most French hotels they have not yet began providing tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, which i feel would enhance the appeal.

Hotel was very quiet during our stay, indeed we only person we saw was the friendly host. Excellently clean facility, especially the bathroom which looked brand new and was very well designed. Breakfast was very good. Location perfect - just a 3 minute walk from the town centre (which was also very agreeable). On street parking was free. We will certainly return !

Room was great for the price and location was 5 minutes walk from great restaurants and the lovely river. Plenty of Free nighttime parking and we chose to eat breakfast by the river before having to move the car/checkout

Very friendly and helpful staff, willing to help where they could. Price quality very good match. The breakfast buffet was a way better than the last time we stayed.
