GOLDEN TULIP LYON OUEST TECHLID Hotel & Spa

Very easy to find, lovely hotel and a warm welcome from the reception desk. Room was spacious and comfortable. There was a large swimming pool we could have used if we wished. The dinner was excellent - we chose the hot and cold buffet food. Not cheap but you get what you pay for! The service at dinner was also excellent. We would definitely use this hotel again.

At breakfast a few things had run out and were not replenished. I think we had arrived just after conference guests had been in to eat. We were rather rudely told by a member of staff that we couldn't sit at one table (I guess it had been laid for lunch, but there were no other tables laid for breakfast). I guess we just arrived at a busy time.

Excellent continental breakfast!

A La Carte menu was weak for a French restaurant, would have expected something more than a Poke bowl or Caesar salad for the main course at dinner. Buffet was a good choice for dinner, excellent quality, but seriously over priced for what a normal person can eat by amount. In addition it remained totally not understandable why hot, cold and dessert buffet had to be paid for separately... The amount eaten will remain same regardless if you take only hot and/or cold and/or dessert buffet or all of them.

Everything was new and clean. Great rooms with good air conditioning which was appreciated in the summer. We enjoyed the pool, great buffet breakfast and the comfortable beds.

Trying to get food was a bit of an issue. The hours of the restaurant were very limited especially during the weekend. It seems like they cater to more the business people who stay during the week, however the hotel was full of families on the weekend. The "to go" food section which was listed on the website was just candy and chips. The only option was very average pizza. The location was also a little off the beaten path in an industrial/commercial area, not the most scenic.

The hotel was lovely, very modern and clean. Really helpful staff. A good restaurant serving buffet style food and breakfast was great with plenty of choice and lots of space.

I was locked in my toilet as soon as I had entered the room due to a faulty/broken handle and no way of getting out from the inside. My husband had to call staff who eventually opened the door. We were given a new room without faulty handles, although I was quite shaken by the experience. I thought there would’ve been more acknowledgment from the staff of the distress caused. This meant we were late for our restaurant booking, but were able to eat from the buffet menu (a la carte had closed).

One of the best business hotels we have stayed in. Location a surprise, (not according to our son who uses google maps) but it was super convenient for a stop over travelling from Spain on up to Northern France. Lovely staff, very clean, great facilities for a family with adult children (swimming pool and spa) rooms very comfy. Buffet food really, really good. Excellent choice of wine. Our plans changed after booking and the communication was excellent.

Nothing to add here. It ticked every box. We had originally booked on the Saturday night, where i was told the restaurant would be closed, but moved it to Friday as our plans changed and the restaurant was open. Not sure how easy it would have been to find food within walking distance, might need to check this, if the restaurant is closed.

the room was clean . The bed comfortable enough and the overall size of the room was great for a couple. The atmosphere and the facilities of the hotel were great, I would expect it to be a five star hotel.

the doors of the bathroom and toilet they are not really good, they don’t close well plus there is no real sound proof . Also the breakfast was quite simple, not many fresh fruits and didn’t have a big variety of food.

Best hotel of our road trip! Attended a conference in Lyon and this was a good location not far from the city. Excellent staff. Loved the large spa facilities. We had requested and were given interconnecting rooms with our own balconys. Modern good sized rooms with kettle and coffeemaker. Best breakfast range ever and the buffet dinner was good too.

No hair conditioner but we brought our own.

Service, Design, Food!

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious the tea and coffee facilities were great as there was a kettle. The balcony was also good. Plenty of pillows and towels and we did have robes although we didn't use the spar it was nice to have them.

For the price perhaps more bottles of water and tea (luckily I had my own)

The hotel is new, clean and stylish. There is a gym, a pool, bar, restaurant, parking and a very pleasent garden area to spend time if the weather allows. Our stay was perfect.

All was good, just keep in mind it is around 20 mins driving from city center, to go to Lyon having a car is fundamental.
