Golden Tulip Pornic Suites

The apartment was great, lots of space, clean and comfortable. The little kitchenette area was handy. There was a fridge to keep drinks cold and there Was some water in there when we arrived. The kids loved the pool and it stayed open until 10pm. We were delighted with the free parking, hopefully the hotel will get an electric car charger in the future. The staff were friendly and helpful when we had questions or needed anything..

As others have said the pool is accessed through the carpark. The car park is very low so would be tight for a van. The area is far from centre so you need a car. A few bowls and wine glasses would have been useful in the kitchen.

-Immaculately clean comfortable rooms - we stayed in a family suite one night and a large double on the second night. -Really helpful friendly reception staff - good variety of food at breakfast - kids loved the pancakes - very enjoyable dinner with efficient service - delicious hake! - has a calm peaceful feel - You can get BBC world news on the TV

Husband checked the pool and said it was nice but too hot- almost like a sauna The location is not the best being away from town but we’ve been before and know that transport is essential Lighting in dining room too bright for me but the food was delicious

Clean comfortable room with patio to sit outside. Hot water to enjoy a bath and shower. We had complimentary bottles of water in a fridge which we appreciated. We also appreciated the air conditioning as it was very hot weather during our stay. I enjoyed a lone swim in the small pool. It was good to be able to park under the hotel in a garage.

These are minor points as overall we had a lovely visit. However the bathroom smelled of smelly socks, possibly as there is no extractor fan. There was some litter just behind the small wall of our patio. Our room was overlooking the bin store and some neglected shrubs. We only paid for a budget room but as the hotel did not seem to have many guests perhaps we could have had a better view. The underground garage could do with some refurbishment.

The room was a studio provided with a kitchenette and complimentary water and tea set. It was spacious and well organized. The parking was an underground garage (especially appreciated for the motorbike) with elevator to the upper floors and luggage carts. There were blinds on the windows and a little balcony.

The restaurant menu posted in the elevator offered little choice and restaurants were not at walking distance.

Spacious rooms with a little kitchenette, large comfortable bed and a balcony. Free underground car parking. Bar and restaurant available - not a huge menu, but food was ok.

Location is a bit out of town - 25 minute hilly walk to the port in Pornic. We enjoyed seeing round the port in the afternoon, but felt it would be difficult to walk the route in the dark, so chose to have our evening meal in the hotel restaurant.

Check in was easy and very helpful. The pool was lovely, if not a little small, and slightly odd that you access through the car park. Room was great - with hidden kitchenette in the wardrobe!

The location was more out of town than I expected but that was probably my fault in not checking first!

The suite was very comfortable, clean and spacious with pleasant wrap around balcony.

The "kitchen" facilities were basically in a wardrobe with annoying sliding doors, but adequate. A little out of the centre of Pornic, a 20 minute walk with a couple of hills. The indoor pool was not very good.

Great stay, clean, comfortable. Great breakfast and good restaurant. Ideal kitchenette we used on the second night. I stayed with my 2 children 11 and 7. They loved it and the pool is a great addition. Would definitely stay again. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

The location to begin with but actually when I got to learn my way around it's not far by car for anything.

Everything to like about this hotel! Only one slight downside, it's a bit of a trek to the town centre. However, that is probably a good thing. It means a 20 minute walk in the evening!!

Almost nothing to dislike

Facilities are excellent here, a training area plus a pool, which we didn't use on this occasion but when we're back next week, we will use it.

Had to park in a disabled space (on the instructions of the staff) as our vehicle was too high for the underground car park.
