B&B HOTEL Boulogne Sur Mer

The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned and towels replaced every day. It was conveniently situated for sightseeing in Boulogne and for exploring the coastline - e.g. visits to Cap Blanc Nez, beach and cliff walks etc and a lovely nearby town of Hardelot.

The room was a little bit too small, quite dark and not very warm. There wasn't much of a choice in restaurants nearby, so it was necessary to drive somewhere unless we walked into Boulogne city centre.

I’ve been staying at Boulogne B&B Hotel for years, it always lives up to my expectations…except for two things (see below)

The duvets are too thick & heavy for summer months, I never sleep well because I am too hot. Years ago the sheets & blankets could be adjusted. The second dislike is the ridiculous rigmarole for logging in to the wifi, why do I need to go through it three times when staying for one night because I keep getting logged out without being remembered, & why is it now such a lengthy logging in process to get connected, I have to keep repeating my email. I seem to remember a few years ago all I needed to do was put in the room number, door code & my email (once), that was easy back then.

Excellent location,(one minute from the A16,in close proximity to restaurants). Only saw one member of staff but he was very good,friendly and efficient. Room was perfect for our needs: (transit stop for motorcyclists).Plenty of clothes hanging space,bathroom big enough,good shower.Very clean throughout,and good value.

The breakfast was surprisingly extensive for a low budget hotel,(didn't expect bacon,scrambled egg and sausages),but the sausages were awful in our,(British lol),collective opinion,the bacon could be a little crispier.Minor thing though,as there were a couple of cereal options and the usual delicious croissants/bread etc.Oh yes and the security gate needs fixing,(bikers are paranoid about security).No real complaints though,we liked it there and will definitely use this hotel again.

The convenience of it - location, easy of entry, simplicity of design, good soundproofing (my daughter practiced her violin for an hour or so without disturbing anyone as far as we know), and Celine’s superb cleaning of the room. Nice walk down to the Boulogne-sur-Mer citadel to clear out the ill effects of the drive.

We had expected breakfast to be included, but it wasn’t, and then we couldn’t opt in because of covid restrictions. The price was a bit high given the “industrial” character of the hotel: 40 Euros would have felt about right.

The staff (especially the young lady at the reception) was really nice and friendly yet professional. The family room was comfortable and clean.

There was no working lift to reach our room which was on the second floor and couldn't work out the air con (seems to be just a heater) so it was too hot and uncomfortable in the night .

Convenient location for an overnight stop en route to the south of France. Exactly what we needed. Comfortable and clean. The ATM style check in was brilliantly convenient for a middle of the night arrival and the operator on the other end of the 24 hour helpline spoke English when we had a problem with our key code.

It was very easy to get to from Le Shuttle, only half hr

Wasn't so keen on the apartments being on the outside of the building. Would have preferred to be inside. My husband is disabled and was unable to get him past the sink into the shower

Very convenient for ferries and the tunnel. Quite quiet. Breakfast very pleasant.

Automated check in at the door to reception can be quite confusing. It caused quite a long queue and each took a long time.

Clean room, comfortable if a little small but perfect for a few nights.

No facilities to make tea/coffee but there were coffee machines downstairs in the lobby.

As always b&b hotels provide clean, adequate rooms for less money but provide everything you need for a one night stop over.

This one did not have the normal large areas for dogs that we have had before. Otherwise nothing.
