It was a mixture of old world charm mixed with a modern up to date bathroom. The room was large, as was the bed, which was very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities, with small welcoming touches, such as biscuits, sweets and water. The wifi was excellent, and the Television large with English channels. The walk in shower was large and modern, with good products, and was fitted wit a his and her sinks. The breakfast was very good with quite a choice and Allison, the proprietor made us boiled eggs. she was very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend this b & b to anyone, for either a stopover, or a longer stay to explore the area. There are several restaurants close by, two of which overlook the river Charente.

Being an older property that fronts directly on the street, there is no parking outside, but there is very good parking close by.

location is central to Verteuil sur Charente and perfect for local restaurants and walk around the village. Alison is a friendly and informative host and put on a good breakfast and GF bread for the wife. Bedroom was spacious with a slider door bathroom, well furnished and more than comfortable. Coffee machine with pods and part view of the river and Chateau. Very reasonably priced

It didn’t bother us but parking is off site so loading/uploading is right outside front door on road (not busy).

The bed was so comfortable and the room so spacious, with Ali on hand to help with bookings at great restaurants that virtually flank Les Halles in the centre of the village.

Friendly and very helpful welcome. Superly clean, Room facilities and standard of devour and furnishing higher than most 4 star hotels. In middle of village close to a couple of resuarants one being almost Michaline star. Easy access also and nearby parking is safe. Will definately book again.

We were greeted by the friendly lady owner who made us very welcome and made sure our stay was wholly enjoyable. We were given valuable information on places to eat and excellent insights into the local area. The accommodation was very comfortable and immaculate. Our bicycles were stored safely within the property.

There was noting we didn't like and would recommend Les Halles Chambre D'Hotes without reservation.

Very good breakfast offering, and on the terrace in the garden, is such a nice spot Excellent room facilities, lovely view and super shower. Our host also recommended a restaurant just 3 doors down, on the river, and it was excellent.

Very minor but the duvet cover was linen blend and could have been a little softer, but that’s the only thing.

Everything. Such a lovely, beautifully furnished and beautifully clean chamber d’hote. Very warm welcome from the owner. Large comfy room with everything you need, modern spotless bathroom. Easily accessible parking. Pretty little village. Great breakfast. Just can’t fault this place at all.

Fabulous property and uber cool decor, The room I had was very chic and had a great view over the patio and looking out across the Charente. The sound of the running water outside was so hypnotic and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, room had generous proportions and the bathroom was again fabulous with a Rain Shower which I could have stayed in all day! Breakfast was plentiful and was served at a time which best suited you as guest. Alison the Boutique Hotel owner was a fantastic host and a fountain of local knowledge and went over and above what you would generally expect. I arrived on a Monday evening and after having a wander to take in such a Glorious location and could not find anywhere to have a meal as the bulk of restaurants are not open on a Monday evening and the only one that was had an event on. I arrived back in the hotel a approximately 8:30pm and Alison asked if I had managed to secure an evening meal, I advise that I wasn’t and without prompting or requesting she proceeded to make me a lovely baguette and a cup of tea! Can not rate this hotel or the host highly enough! Will definitely use again if required and will recommend to everyone I meet or know that wish to visit the Beautiful village of Verteuil-sur- Charente.

Alison your host is wonderful and very easy to get on with. The property has been beautifully restored to a very high standard and you will want for nothing during your stay.

Alison was an extremely good host, very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and very friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and typically continental and great value for money and we would definitely stay there again. Beautiful village location.
