The location of the hotel and the clean room. It's very central to the city centre and right opposite of the train station.

My room was facing towards the walking street so there were many drunks shouting in the nights. And the room was cold and the bathroom heating wasn't enough. Luckily one could request a mobile heating device to further warm up the room. The toilet had a leak on my first night and I informed the staff and it was fixed. No leaks on the 2nd night. I did wish there was at least coffeemaker or some water in the room. I have to make a mental note to bring my own water the next time I book the room here.

The hotel's location was ideal for us as we were arriving by train at the station opposite the hotel. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke English. We asked for a room at the back of the hotel, and that is what we received. The room felt warm but the air conditioning worked, and we had a comfortable night on comfortable beds. There was no noise from the street. We left early, so did not try the breakfast.

There was no-one on reception when we arrived, and we had to wait a little till someone appeared. There was no means of signalling that someone was waiting. We like to have tea and coffee facilities in the room, but we understand this is not a feature of many hotels in Germany.

the location was perfect. very clean, very helpful and kind staff, I got to check in even sooner because the room was already ready when I arrived.

The “do not disturb” sign was irritating. one side was “do not disturb” other side was “get a free drink”. So it makes you think they give a free drink but if you put the “free drink” sign out they give a coupon for a drink (red\white wine, beer or Softdrinks) and not clean your room. it’s written though but very little.

The room is really modern, I like the facilities. The location is just great, you can consider the lobby as your waiting area for the ICE/Train. The Staff is just friendly and professional. The elevator is also fast and good.

But there is no phone in the room, so you have to go downstairs to get some services. There is no room service and no Mantel. Sometimes you can hear the noise in the foyer. The scenery from the window ist so lala

Splendid location opposite Essen Hbf, bed, room + windows could be opened for FRESH air-access. Friendly staff@reception,prepared for my arrival.

How to operate the electricity in my room, i. e. the lights - was not explained, anywhere; there was nobody @ reception, later on when I found out about this. The Internet connection had security issues, was haphazard and totally inadequate for business travellers.

There was no phone in the room The reception staff were not too welcoming. Most of them do not smile. They aren’t rood either. They are helpful. The AC was not working. There was a construction going on outside the hotel which made it very noisy in the morning.

It was clean and we had a lovely large suite. The staff were kind enough to lend us an umbrella as it was raining while we were walking through the city and they helped us in the morning to heat our baby's breakfast. The coffee machine in the room made two delicious cups of coffee in the morning.

The pillows were all very thick and only suitable for side sleeping. We would have loved a couple of thinner ones for back sleeping.

I am messy and asked not to be disturbed, which they adhered to. I left my garbage bag in front of the door every day and it was picked up in minutes. When I left with three suitcases I dropped a chocolate on the carpet and with my chair ground it in. I left a note of apology. I was particularly pleased NOT to have a bathtub, since I cannot climb into one. The shower was very roomy and sparkling clean. Hope to stay there again next year.

The breakfast table has the butter near the juices. It should be with the "Aufschnitt". Since I walked with a cane the service people brought tea to my table. Had breakfast only once since my brother lives in town.

- No kettle in the room - The windows of the room were to the busy street where there was a building constrution therefore the night was noisy and the construction work started very early in the morning - The A/C was not working so it was a bit hot as we could not open the windows due to the noise

The Location cannot be perfect, it's right across the Main station, has alot of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes around and walking distance to the shopping district. The room was also extremely clean and tidy which was really an add on. I did also like the ironing room concept.

The staff were not helpful at all. Based on previous reviews I knew that the air conditioning was not working, which the staff didn't mention at the check in either. When i asked about it, they said the technicians are there working on it and they can't tell how long it will take, "It might take half an hour, 2 hours or by night" were their words, I assumed it was a rehearsed reply they give to everyone. Thankfully the outdoor temperatures were good so I could easily sleep with the windows open.
