Waldhotel Nachtigall

The hotels is in a quiet suburb of Paderborn. The Nixdorf Museum and central Paderborn can be reached by bus (stops just outside the hotel) in about 20min. The room and bathroom are spacious and very quiet (we had a room at the back, facing the park). The meal in the restaurant was nice, with a good selection of food and beverages at reasonable cost. Plenty of Off-street parking is available and with the bus close by no car is needed to explore Paderborn. Overall an enjoyable and comfortable stay

A hot water kettle in the room would have been nice - one was supplied when we asked :)

I booked this hotel for my parents to stay in. They loved everything about it. It is very clean and tidy, smells wonderful. The room was a great size, nice little balcony type room with a beautiful view. Large enough ensuite. The breakfasts were lovely and very good for the price. There was literally nothing that qe could fault. The desk staff and the breakfast staff were particularly lovely. We had an older male help us with breakfast and he was so accommodating. We didnt dine there for dinner so cant speak for those staff members but can assume they were amazing as well.

The only thing we didn't like was a lady we can only assume was the bar manager. I dont know if she was but she was incredibly icy and nasty to the people beneath her. They looked terrified/uncomfortable.to speak. They delayed giving us change for our cash payments because she was the only one allowed to touch money for some reason. She berated and snapped at her team members. We watched her berate one of the males about making a drink incorrectly and then watched her make it the exact same way he did. In short, shes a bully. I think maybe she needs to be spoken with because that was not a comfortable environment to be a part of nevermind work in. I CANNOT stress enough that this was the ONLY issue we had with the place.

the lady who was working on reception the night of my stay was very helpful. She called to help arrange a smooth arrival for my work colleague who would be arriving after the reception had closed, very much appreciated. She was friendly and had great English too which was really helpful for me!

the pillows on the bed weren't great, they were square (which to me is strange) and the material inside was not very comfortable. Other than that everything about the hotel was great

Hotel located in a beautiful setting, surrounded by lots of lovely trees (where I could do my daily morning yoga). Reception staff were very friendly and helpful (organised the flowers I needed) My room was comfortable with an extra table and lounge chair (and fridge) plus a spacious bathroom. All spotlessly clean. Walking distance to local shopping street, several supermarkets within a few minute's walk and Schloß Neuhaus also close by. The train line was a few minutes walk away if required although I came by car. Downtown Paderborn is a ten-minute drive by car. A definite 10.

A very nice, modern hotel which is conveniently placed. It was only an overnight stop and had plenty of parking. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom excellent. The only downside was the restaurant was closed for evening meals as it was a bank holiday. The staff were apologetic and helpful in helping us find dinner a 5 minute walk away. The kitchen was open in the morning though, and breakfast was excellent.

Good location in paderborn and within walking distance of lots of restaurants in the town. Lots of parking which felt safe for our motorcycles that we were touring on. Rooms were clean and tidy and good value for money. The restaurant was closed when we stayed so can't comment on how good this may have been.

It might have been good to have tea / coffee facilities in the room but there is a mini bar

The room was very clean and comfortable.

Given that our visit was at the end of November, beginning of December the hotel was quiet and so the restaurant and bar were only open for 3 days in the week.

The breakfast was excellent The rooms were very clean The sauna was fantastic, especially after a long day of travel Everything was clean

The mattress was too hard. The bed was small for us. We had ordered a child bed for our 4 year old, and we specifically chosed an option of a room with a king-size bed. Unfortunately, they brought a cot for our 4 year old and it was too small for her! Also, we were given a room with 2 single beds. This means our child was not having a bed to sleep on. We talked to the receptionist who gave us a different room, but the room was originally a single person room with a 160cm bed which we had to then share with our daughter. The mattress was also hard, so the three of us ended up not sleeping comfortably.

The location was perfect. This family run business is amazing and so friendly it makes you feel at ease. The staff in the restaurant were so friendly and spoke English to us to assist us with our meal. provided a baby chair and just so friendly to chat and enjoy our meal. thank you

This is the 3rd time my wife and I have stayed here and we’ve never been disappointed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, ideally located for our plans and the staff always very pleasant. It is often used for corporate events but this never detracts from our enjoyment. I would highly recommend it
