Moskva Hotel

The staff here really helped me out. The receptionist literally walked me to the ATM at night to withdrawl cash, which was awesome. I wouldn't have found it without him, I don't think. Staff at the hotel catered to my request to have a beer with dinner, which I could do within the bar, and they brought food into the bar from the restaurant. Very nice. They also helped look into possible bus routes, since all the trains were either canceled or full (there are only 2-3 per day) and the buses tend to run only after midnight. By the way, a taxi service, Drop Taxi Madurai, gave me a great rate to Thanjavur and it was half the rate of other companies and I had a great ride. It's an informal hotel, but clean enough and the staff are very helpful. the restaurant is pretty good and serves a big breakfast for 210 rupees. You can't beat that.

The surrounding area is a bit dusty and rugged. But it's safe, just kind of rundown.

Room is absolutely fine, comfort to rest after a long drive, air conditioning does the job well. Bathroom, sanitaries and cleanliness are worth the money you spent. Walkable distance to many good attractions but I bet may not walk because unclean streets and pretty chaotic with vehicles but very peaceful inside hotel. Elevators were working well, my parents were able to use them.

Car parking, I had reservation and reminded them before check in but seems sold my car space to someone else because I checked in late, my vehicle had to park outside, right on the sides of a busy and chaotic street. It got kind of 2mm thickness of dust overnight, by luck nobody rammed into my vehicle overnight and before check out.

You can walk to the temple from this hotel (10-15 minutes walk). The staff were very smiley and helpful especially the manager who went out of his way to support us with planning our onward journey. The saluting doorman was so welcoming! The onsite restaurant is useful.

The hotel is essentially clean but dusty.

Liked the prompt service , for any request they promptly attend , and room had all provisions, comfort and good location . Breakfast was good

Pillows were a bit big (later they said I could have asked) , breakfast maybe can have some bread butter and provision of spoons etc . Rest all is fine and good

+ Room service (the best), right from reception to restaurant, from security to house keeping.. all staff members were very friendly, helpful and accommodative. + Location + In-house restaurant with good variety of food items.

- There is no window or balcony in most of the rooms. Only in 3rd floor, it's available. So no proper ventilation. - Car parking is available at the basement but little cramped.

The food was nice and the room also spacious and clean

This is my 3rd stay with them. They are always welcoming and warm. Easy to communicate. Breakfast is good. They are helpful when you stay with old people. On a busy road, so easy to get around.

The location was good and the hotel was situated in a broad street. Hotel had its own car parking.

There was a bad smell, drainage smell,inside the restaurant and washroom. Instead of a floor mat they are using dirty jutebags right at the entrance of hotel.

an indian family hotel with a lot of local charme in an genuine environment which i prefer over so called "luxury hotels". i felt close to India and Indians. Wonderful restaurant with a charming ands sensitive staff.

Food...totally average food..staff..untrained & unprofessional...never writes order on a paper..and forget to serve 1 to 2 items...
