Fennessy's Hotel

As soon as we entered the hotel I was struck by the unique and sumptuous decor- it felt like we were entering the 19th century. The bar was more than a bar-it was a meeting place for friends and those who would become friends, and there was so much to look at on every wall and corner. The rooms were small but had everything a person could need- AND hot water showers! The staff were so friendly and helpful- it got to feel like home pretty quickly. Special thanks to manager Selina Chanel, who came back to work in the evening to help us with online booking problems for the airlines- she cheerfully worked with us for two hours to solve our flight problem- bless her, keep her, and give her a raise!

Comfortable beds very accommodating staff reasonable cost to stay oh and a delicious breakfast cooked perfectly I will most certainly like to stay here again

Can't really fault this place I mean it's on the retro side of things but that's just the style of this place and it's a good thing makes the place unique the only thing I'd point out is to make sure the cleaners clean the rooms properly before a new guest arrives found unpleasant surprise on one of the toilet rolls but other than that everything is perfect

I thought the staircase was lovely, as was the breakfast room with the tables set with traditional breakfast china. The bar was comfortable and staff were welcoming and engaging. Superb piping hot water in bedroom.

I didn't like that the corridor leading to the bedrooms had an additional lock on it of which I didn't have a key. Had someone engaged the lock then one would be locked out.

Good location in the middle of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast good. Overall, not bad value for the money.

Bathroom a little tired looking. The shower screen was difficult to slide across. No shower mat provided so had to use one of the hand towels instead. The bed was very noisy every time you moved.

Transit to & from work was just a short journey away & parking the car was easy located the local people where very friendly & the choice of food in town was brilliant

The only thing to spoil my stay was other people using the bed rooms were very noisy coming & going also a young baby crying all evening & into the night certainly kept me awake until the early hours

The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. I cannot comment on the breakfast as I had to leave early both mornings. But overall a good stay.

The remote on the TV wouldn't work and there was no way of reaching the TV without falling and having an accident.

I really liked the bed, it was very comfortable. My room had a lovely view too. My bed got changed to a double bed rather than a twin room which was better for me.

The shower broke - well stopped working. I wasn't able to turn it off, but the two ladies fixed it in a few minutes.

Breakfast was excellent. Waittresses were very friendly and accomodating. Location is perfectually situated in the middle of town. Easy access to anything you might need.

This stay was unusual weather, being extremely hot. No air circulation in the room.

Didn't get breakfast... as we had to leave at 7am... no breakfast!

Taps in bathroom were both lose... room very very warm .. but room very comfortable.. unfortunately at 7.30 no food available in bar asked for soup and sandwiches.. but went to mulcahys pub.... Lovely food available there!

Very friendly reception and staff, great value as it included a "full Irish Breakfast" Located on the main shopping street i town. Car Parking was two minutes walk around the corner, in the local authority car park. No barriers at this carpark, so free to come and go all day. Parking cost Euro 3-50 for the whole day, free parking after 1830 to 0830 the following morning

Nothing to fault except for our own age, a bit of a stair climb for older people !
