Oriente Hotel

The location is perfect for a visit in Bari. The breakfast was various and good, we enjoyed the fresh baked croissants very much. The price in January was good, and the heating was great, though on one day we were so overheated we had to sleep by an open window. The people were nice.

The personnel was somewhat "invisible", but we didn't really need their assistance. The only problem is, the things are aging, and grease stains on the bed head-part, falling soap holder on the wall, and stains on the carpets are a bit discomfortable. Alltogether the room was comfy and clean though.

Overall, this was a very central and well-kept hotel. Breakfast was as good as we have experienced anywhere we have visited. Staff pleasant.

Arrived on a Friday night and from the start had issues with our electronic room card. Despite the cards being programmed over and over again, they still did not give access to our room (inside the room cards worked fine). Eventually, the reception gave us an old traditional door key..... we departed on Wednesday and still had issues with room entry. One expects that such issues would have been reported to hotel maintenance and dealt with. This, albeit annoying, would not stop us from returning to the hotel for further stays.

Location, near Bari Vecchia, bars and restaurants, and the waterfront. A wonderful elegant breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses and even gf items. Breakfast caffè was wonderful. My bathroom was big and functional but oddly arranged, with toiletries behind the big door. The air conditioning worked well. Staff was friendly.

I had Room 208, an interior room that looked onto a decent big central space, but it was quite dark even at midday. The dark carpeting,  even if it were new, did not help. My room was cramped with a single big old desk chair that was always in the way.

The hotel has a nice foyer and lovely staff. The rooms are a little bit small but have all facilities and a good sized shower. There are coffee making facilities in the room and adequate space for clothes, luggage and all. The rooms got a bit hot because of very good central heating. The staff were very helpful to try to reduce this. No view from our room. However there is a roof terrace which is lovely. The breakfast is superb. The location of this hotel is excellent. Really close to the lungomare, to the main shopping street, to the main restaurant street and to the old part of Bari.

The room was too hot, we turned down the temperature but it wouldn't go lower than 16, the maid told us to ring to reception. We did this and were told there was no AC and to turn off the heat. We did this but it was still really hot so we left the window open but it was very noisy as we were in a kind of Atrium/Courtyard and the sound carried from the other rooms. We found out when we were checking out that there was AC as the receptionist asked us about our trip.

The hotel is well located and had all the facilities we needed. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good.

It was not easy and actually quite dangerous having a shower. The side of the bath is high - reached above my knees (and I am tall). To get into and out of the bath without anything to hold onto is dangerous. The shower door is not fixed, so you cannot hold onto it. The bath is also very narrow, so the whole bathroom is wet after your shower. Hotels really need to think about things like this - if you can afford an expensive suite, you probably are older and start thinking about your movements.

Breakfast was amazing with many choices. The facilities in our room were superb. Thank god the air conditioning was working throughout the heatwave conditions Italy faced in July 2023.

It was a little difficult to stretch over a high bath to get into the shower which was in the bath. This was due to personal medical condition.

The hotel is in a good location very near to the sea but also within 10 minutes walk from the train and bus station and very near to the central part of the city. It was really fast to check-in and check-out. There were many people in the hotel, but it was not crowded or noisy. The hotel was clean. The hotel room for three people was not too big, but enough for some days. The three beds covered the largest part of the room. The window opened to an inner area within the building. There was enough place to put our clothes in a wardrobe. There was also a deposit box, but it did not work. The bathroom was big enough, but the shower a bit small. The bed was comfortable. The wifi worked well. There is a terrace on the roof, it is possible to look around, but the panorama is not so extraordinary from there. But the weather was not so nice to spend too much time on the top. The staff at the reception was kind and helpful, and also most of them in the breakfast room. The breakfast was various and of good quality. Different fruits, vegetables, ham, salami, muesli, yogurt, croissant and a lot of more. And different types of coffee you could choose. (It was very easy to travel to different towns in the region by train from Bari Centrale, even during Easter period on the weekend, e.g. to Monopoli or Matera, but also to the Airport).

The breakfast room was a bit small relative to the number of visitors. The hotel room was a bit small to move within it for three people.

1) The deluxe room we booked was very noisy since it was facing the main avenue. I was able to switch to an interior room that was very quiet for the last 3 nights of my stay. 2)I left my computer charger in the outlet near room when we checked out and called about it later that day as well as the following day. I was told that nothing was reported by the cleaning lady. I must state for the record that we left a nice tip on the pillow with a thank you card but I am less than grateful now that I know that our charger has not been reported although it must have been found...

Paper and plastic cups in the room! A choice of either pot cups and glasses or the paper and plastic cups would of been appreciated. Especially in a four star hotel this I felt.let the hotel down, as did the.paid mini bar where in the previous hotel this had been complimentary and replenished daily.
