Castello Di Monterado

Magical. This wonderful heritage palace was like a dream. We stayed in the suites and had enough room for many. Paintings on the ceiling and walls, antique furniture and shutter windows onto the amazing gardens. The staff were excellent and could not have helped more. Parking on site. Comfortable spacious bathrooms and great air conditioning. The pool area would be perfect for a group party. (needs some heating!). Honesty bar. The VIEWS were to die for. Terrace for breakfast and sundowner drinks. Dinner was delicious and well priced.

The hotel is a beautiful old 18th century building surrounded by lovely gardens. It has retained it's historic character and is filled with antiques and older furniture which gives the impression that one is staying in someone's very comfortable home. We believe it has been owned by the same family for generations. The building has been discreetly modernised and our room was extremely spacious and very well equipped. We would have liked to stay longer but it was a stopover before catching the ferry at Ancona so we were on a tight schedule but we will definitely stay again on our return. The breakfast was excellent and the staff on duty were very efficient and friendly. Unfortunately we were not able to dine at the hotel but they informed us at the time we booked the room and made a reservation at a nearby restaurant which was more than satisfactory.

I have an experience with many hotels in my life. Castello Di Monterado is definitely in my top-3, and definitely not the third (last) place in my top-3. I like everything- authenticity and spirit of this place, accommodation, atmosphere, hospitality, food in restaurant, view from every point. After two days of our family stay kids were begging to stay at least one more night. I decided to stay two more nights, I was happy to stay longer, but vacation was going to the end. My family fell in love with this place. We want to discover new destinations, but 100% sure we want to come here again.

a truly fantastic place, in every sense of the word. Beautifully and sensitively restored castle, with modern and luxurious facilities but retaining all its ancient character. Amazing large room, very comfortable bed and pillows, stunning views. Tremendous breakfast - everything you could want and more besides. We felt incredibly welcomed and well looked after - so much so that we decided to change our plans and return the following week for a couple of nights on our way back. We had been caught in the May 2023 deluge in Emilia Romana and it took us 8 hours to drive what should have been little more than a 2 hour trip from Modena, but it was worth every minute. we were greeted with such warmth and sympathy and the restaurant remained open to offer us a very good and reasonably priced dinner. very highly recommended. probably the jewel of the east coast.

That we couldn’t stay longer - but we will be back!

We had a wonderful week at Castello di Monterado. The staff were all lovely, breakfasts on the terrace were delightful, the dinners were excellent, the rooms were enormous and really comfortable, the interiors were stunning and the pool was gorgeous and relaxing. We were holidaying with our family and two dogs and we loved walking in the woods in the early mornings and evenings and it was great that we could bring them with us to dinner.

The property is exceptional. A beautifully renovated castle where you feel like a welcome guest invited by some noble family. A grand historic place with all modern comforts. At the same time personal, warm and cosy like home. Well, we loved the place. Our suite was spectacular (Principe Suite). Bathroom and shower from a fairy tale. Big and beautiful terrace. Painted ceilings like in a museum. All clean and newly restored. Ample common areas, luxurious gardens, etc. Cant describe it all. It was a truly royal experience in a romantic castle. Great breakfast and service too. We could explore the area between Urbino and Gradara Castle, also Fano. All easily reachable by car. This property is a jewel not to be missed. We would come back any time (maybe when it is a little warmer to enjoy also their swimming pool which is beautiful).

An amazing property! The facilities, pool and grounds are exceptional, and the views over the sweeping valley and fields, with the ocean in the distance, simply stunning! We fell in love with the property, and the area, as soon as we arrived. Photos don't do it justice. Our self-contained apartment was very clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. Fantastic breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room of the castle, which has been beautifully restored, and was a delight to wander around and spend time in. The option to have an aperitivo and/or dinner at the bar/restaurant was great, as well light lunch options and drinks around the pool, with the prices being extremely reasonable. The staff were warm and very friendly, and it is lovely that the owner is so welcoming and takes the time to speak with, and get to know guests. I highly recommend this wonderful property, and we hope to stay again in the future.

Amazing stay at Castello di Monterado. The castle itself is beautifully well kept as are the surroundings. Made good use of the fantastic pool area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we arrived Orlando (one of the owners) greeted us with a handshake and showed us around the hotel and the grounds. Breakfast was excellent, especially on those days we could sit out on the balcony looking over the countryside. Could not recommend this hotel strongly enough.

A stunning castello with beautiful grounds and fantastic views. It has an interesting historic interior but the bedrooms are newly done up with modern comforts. The breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had, so much choice and located in a frescoed dining room. I wish we could have stayed more than a night to enjoy the place properly.

We were too early in the season to find the castello's restaurant open so had to drive elsewhere. Next time we will try to visit when it is open.

Amazing location, outstanding team and fantastic service. Everything here is stunning. The owner Orlando is a perfect host. All team members are hand-picked and treat yourself like friends. Luxorious amenities like ETRO in suite bath cosmetics, high quality food and beverages. Breakfast is fresh, rich and tasty. As an employee of a renowned airline, I have traveled the world and stayed in countless luxury hotels. This castle can definitely keep up in quality and service. The employees are authentic and don't just play a role. You can feel their hospitality and warmth every single day. We would like to mention Stefano in a very special way, who as an all-rounder is a perfect service provider. Originally we booked two nights, but decided to stay longer. We are absolutely thrilled and love this wonderful, peaceful and magical place.

Anyone who has anything to criticize here has no idea of true luxury and the passion behind it
