Ballaro' Hotel - Budget Room

Hotel Ballarò is very clean, fairly priced, and well located. It’s clearly advertised as a budget hotel so it’s unfair to expect certain services or amenities typical of a standard hotel. The staff are not always present but they are available through WhatsApp and respond quickly and helpfully. I think they did a great job with the decor, which is streamlined and minimalistic. The terra-cotta floors combined with the white walls, sheets, tall ceilings with transparent tan curtains, and colorful Ballarò artwork are an attractive combination. The bathrooms are very clean with piping hot water and excellent water pressure and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel Ballarò is just a one-minute walk from the biggest, most bustling market in Palermo and a four-minute walk from the station - in a really busy area - but because of exactly where it is situation plus the fact that it’s in the back of an ancient palazzo, street noise is minimal to non-existent. Breakfast consists of typical Sicilian pastries and very good coffee. I had a great stay!

The only downside to the room is that the bed is a bit too stiff but I slept very well thanks to the perfect temperature and stillness.

Hotel with totally amazing atmosphere, located in a former palace. Beautiful room for breakfast with original ceiling paintings and view on the street. Average breakfast, more sweet than salty pastry available, coffee and juice. Great staff. Our room had bathroom in a different room, reachable only through the corridor, but bathroom completely private, so OK. Great location in a city center.

Loud street during the night together with old windows can make it difficult to sleep. But this is a price for staying in a convenient location in city center.

Coming from Palermo Train Station, the location was perfect: very close to the station, but still very good starting point for walks into the city, as it's right on a very long pedestrianized street, also around the corner from busy Ballaro market. The old, massive staircase with marble steps is amazing, but the the hotel on the first floor is very modern, the rooms and facilities where super clean, also quieter than I had expected in this location. The breakfast with a wide selection of local pastries was above standard. And I got a free room upgrade I hadn't even asked for. Overall very good value for money. Would definitely stay there again!

Loving staff - I had a twist ankle and food poisoning, and the staff were beyond helpful! The only problem is the lack of sound isolation because it is a beautiful old building. It is an architectural problem.There is basically no sound isolation. It is the only negative thing.

In a grand old baroque palazzo between Palermo Centrale and Quattro Canti, with a characteristic vast pillared inner court, red marble stairs, and all the beautiful volumes and charm of this architecture, a well-run, clean, comfortable, newly renovated bed and breakpast. Nice staff, fruit yogurt pastry cereal breakfast, great advantage of drinks machine in the lofty hallway, comfortable bed, fast wifi, great location. Recommended.

Small inconvenience that the (very nice, big, spotless, new) private bathroom was across the hall from our room.

It was in an old palace and very beautiful. Especially the dining hall. The personal was very friendly! It was nice that it had a hallway inside that you can chill in which is also colder than the hot surrounding in Palermo!

It was a bit difficult to open the window and everytime to get through the many altough beautiful stairs to the rooms. And to have an external bathroom but for that price its worth it and you know that before booking. But thats really minor things.

Location close to the train station and pretty close to all the historic attractions of Palermo. Hotel is located in a superb old palazzo - quite impressive IMO. Budget room had everything I needed for a one night stay and I found the price 50 eur per single room very attractive.

Nothing to mention. But I just needed a place for 1 person for 1 night.

an amazing old building around a grand courtyard with ornate stairs, breakfast room and balcony. Our room was comfy and clean. The location is very convenient - under ten minutes stroll from central rail and bus stations. Breakfast was great, staff friendly

easy to find with B.com/Google maps but the Ballaro sign on the front door could be more visible

I like location here. Very simple small room (for one person) but for few days it's ok. Clean and cute. Nice staff

It says there is a balcony, but there isn't. The wall of another building can be seen through the window. But it's ok..only could not write:)

One of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen converted into a hotel. Reception staff Arif was nice, kind and helpful. Fantastic location; right in the middle of all the attractions.

There is literally no wifi coverage in the room. The corridor lights get turned off on their own, often leaving you looking for light switches in pitch darkness in such a spooky old building.
