Hotel Villa Antica Tropea

This is a beautifully historic building in Calabria. As such there are some nuances like more stairs and smaller bathrooms but includer more to look at when in the room or sitting in the courtyard. It is in a great location to walk anywhere in Tropea. The staff is very nice and will help when you ask and helps to speak some basic italian. A storm knocked out the power and water pump on site. They were quick to repair this by italian standards but also took coffee orders to bring on site while waiting.

Ac did not completely cool down my room but others were fine.

We are so glad we booked this hotel. It’s a prefect location right near all the restaurants and shops but the rooms are located in areas that you are not disturbed by any sound. Breakfast was the best out of everywhere we stayed in Italy and the staff were really lovely people. Good pillows that were nice and fluffy. Most other Italian hotels the pillows were so flat so was nice to have decent pillows here, comfortable bed, AC worked well and room is a good size which is important when you have 3 large suitcases. There is a beautiful courtyard area too that breakfast is held in and you can sit in the afternoon.

Beautiful and cozy hotel in period villa, with nice garden at perfect location in Tropea. We appreciated the valet parking and the friendly and helpful staff, and the breakfast with great coffeebar in the garden. Also window blinds were great to block out sunlight in the morning. Walking distance to all Tropea has to offer.

Room and bed were ok. Hotel has many small steps up and down (even in the room) make it unsuitable for less mobile guests. We would have preferred a modern well working walk-in (rain-)shower to the old and not wel working massage-shower-cabin plus whirlpool in our bathroom.

Very good location. Good suggestions for parking - thanks to the staff for their suggestions. The exterior of the hotel, breakfast and terrace areas are really beautiful. The rooms are also very spacious. Very good breakfast :) you can also eat at the hotel in the evening .

The rooms are a bit dated though comfortable. For a 4 star hotel and the money paid, would have expected shuttle service to the beach. The hotel called a taxi to take us since public service was not available at the time we wanted to go. We paid EUR10 for essentially a journey that would have taken less than 10 mins to walk.

This is a beautiful hotel with a lovely courtyard garden. It’s centrally located. A good and varying selection of food for breakfast. Nice to have a little table and chairs outside the room on the courtyard. Staff friendly.

The window of our room opened directly onto the courtyard and so had frosted windows, which was good for privacy but meant very little natural light. Shower gel only provided in little sachets. It felt a bit as if it has seen better days - or maybe the better days are to come!

This is a gem of a hotel. Book it if you can. The staff are amazing, location perfect. Great breakfast - really everything fantastic. Evan including an outdoor space with table and chairs and clothes horse.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and cannot say enough good things about them. All went above and beyond to look after me. Location - perfect. Walking distance to everything and on the main road - and quiet.

The location of the room we booked is not at the Hotel itself, but right in the center of the village with the best view possible of the iconic peninsula (monastery). Our spacious room (loft) was very compfy and the design featured some antique and traditional elements. The breakfast was very good with a mixture of salty and sweet local dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff!

Amazing atmosphere, breakfast is served in a beautiful garden and food is tasty, rooms are clean and bathroom is so comfy! All common areas are regularly cleaned and sanitized! Staff are very friendly and make sure your stay is smooth and relaxing. Location is perfect, right at the centre of everything but far enough away from the loud buzz of the evenings. 10/10 would recommend

Excellent breakast, very good location, nice staff.

First two nights were a bit warm in the room, because the air comditioner couldn’t cool down the room, but Valentina saved us offering another room.
