MIMARU OSAKA SHINSAIBASHI EAST

The place is clean and it's near many wonderful and interesting places like the shinsaibashi street, kuromon market etc. We had a good time staying there and staff there knows many different languages.

The hotel was in a very central location in Shinsaibashi. It is about 8 minutes walk to Dotonbori and 8 minutes walk the other direction to Daimaru and Parco malls. Daimaru and Parco are located along the Shinsaibashi covered shopping street. If you pay an extra 5,000 yen, you can check in at 12 noon if there are rooms available. The apartment was spacious enough for the 3 of us. The shower area and toilet were separate, which is common in Japan. The shower area was big for Japanese standards and it comes with a shower and bathtub. Toiletries like body soap, shampoo and conditioner were provided but not toothbrush or toothpaste. The wifi strength in the apartment was strong and download speed was fast. The staff at the front desk were polite and professional but almost robotic to a sense as they always said the same thing when we returned.

There was no breakfast area. It was weird because Tokyu Stay which I know is part of the same group as Mimaru and Mimaru Suites, does offer breakfast. The problem with Mimaru Osaka Shinsaibashi East is that there was no space for a cafe but maybe they could have a tie-up with a nearby cafe so guests can have a basic breakfast voucher/coupon? The other thing I didn't like was that there was no 2 pin wall socket next to the bed to charge your phone. There was only a type A USB port. Let's be honest, very few people use a type A USB cable these days. They mostly use a type C USB cable. Another issue I had was there was no flat surface in the toilet area for you to place your phone. Would be nice to have one just above the toilet roll holders.

Good location with lots of eateries and a Family Mart nearby and about 10 min walk to Dotonbori. Room had lovely Japanese decor. We had the Family Apartment for 4 adults + 1 child and it was an acceptable size for us. Cosy with a bunk bed. Hotel staff were very helpful in helping us call up the restaurant and attraction to enquire on our behalf. Various staff are on site and they can speak many languages.

Please note the washing machine+dryer are on level 1 but it's open to the public so not advisable to go alone at night. Also the corridor is open air so feels pretty chilly during winter (possibly unsafe too?). Other than these, a great stay and would recommend for families.

We were a family of six travelling and stayed in one room. Plenty of space for all our luggage and we didn’t feel cramped. There was a little kitchenette for cooking simple meals. Very close to the shopping area near Daimaru and Parco. The service from the staff was excellent especially the lady from Bhutan (sorry i forgot your name?) and the gentleman from Vietnam. They have staff from all over the world so language wise there is no problem.

We are forever fans of the Mimaru hotels. They are not meant to be the most luxurious hotels, but for the person who wants the greatest value for their money, stay here. It was perfect for our family of four. We stayed at one in Tokyo and loved it, and then arrived in Osaka and loved this one even more! The units are so clean and well maintained (there are no signs of wear), and so much attention to the small but important details for making a stay absolutely comfortable. The doors are all silent (no creaky hinges or handles), the bathrooms are sound proofed so you don’t hear others showering or using the toilet, and the BEDS were SO comfortable! Firm beds, comfortable sheets and the fluffiest, softest comforters. We got such excellent sleep. The service, on top of all this, was so kind and helpful. They went out of their way to reserve luggage transport and airport pickups. I will most definitely be staying here again if we ever return to Japan, and will be recommending these hotels to everyone I know.

Pillows could have been better but that’s my personal preference (I use memory foam pillows).

Excellent location, close to shops (Shinsaibashi)/restaurants/bars/24hr store/post office/police station/metro (nearest stop: Nagahoribashi, exit 7)…all within minutes walk. Feels safe to walk at night. Around 45mins drive to Kansai airport via highway, without traffic. The apartment is clean and comfy. Kids love the bunk bed. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

The launderett is not exclusive to hotel guests. People from other places use the machines as well so there were a bit of queueing.

The location was amazing, walking distance to all the hot spots in shinsaibashi and dotonbori. The neighborhood felt safe and the small streets were pleasant to wander. The layout plan of the apartment felt spacious and everything was spotless clean. The separate toilet, shower and vanity is very convenient. Shower pressure excellent. Staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful all during our stay and made our luggage forwarding plus ordering of taxi service seamless. Laundry was convenient to use. The fit out of this Mimaru block seems modern and new and well thought of, for example having roller block out blinds installed. Spacious comfortable beds - the bunks are a proper single size. The twin beds are a king single each.

There was nothing to not like. If I had to be really picky, the air con had a bit of a damp smell. This has been the best mimaru chain location we’ve stayed at so far and would not hesitate to stay again in the future for Osaka visits!

Great location, about 10 minutes walk from Dotonburi but with hundreds of shops and restaurants close by if you don't want to walk to the river. The hotel has the same great facilities and amazing staff as the other Mimaru hotels we stayed in, but also has its own unique twist with its coins that are handed for guests at check in. Our kids loved filling snack bags in reception in return for a coin. You can also exchange them for sake, wine or coffee, but be aware that the alcoholic drinks are barely more than a mouthful, so save them for snacks for the kids.

The Japanese-style apartment was slightly too small for my family - which is completely on me for the type of room I booked - so if I returned I would book a western style room for 7.

Location was amazing, 5mins walk to Shinsaibashi Shopping Street and Dotombori. We had a family member who has birthday on the check-in date, and the staff has decorated our room amazingly. Thank you so much to the Mimaru team! FamilyMart is also just around, great location to find restaurants and shoppings. For the rooms, everything was very clean, we had all kinds of facilities like separated bathroom, toilet n bath area. A table and sofa for dining and even cooking or microwave in the room. Refrigerator is big too. We have charger ports at besides every bed, they even set it up for the double decker bed, for the upper bed as well, very much detailed on the room design. Therefore, highly recommended!
