APA Hotel Hanzomon Hirakawacho

The staff is so nice and helpful! I accidentally booked a smoker room and they agreed to change it for me. The rooms on the higher floors are bigger btw! Everyday your room gets clean, you get a new bathrobe, new towels new everything! The hotel is right next to the train station and a ton of convenience store. You also have a microwave and a ice machine for free to use in the lobby. And once you check out you can let your suitcase with the staff all day until you’re ready to pick them up later :)!

Staff super friendly. They didn’t speak much english but they really tried to understand us. Rooms are tiny but to be expected in Japan. Great location - easy walk to a number of underground stations and there’s plenty of shops around. The room was clean and you get daily amenities from housekeeping.

I didn’t realise this hotel had smoking rooms when I booked. Our room stunk of smoke and I couldn’t get used to the smell even after 4 nights. The staff control the air con/heating so we’d go to sleep with the air con on and wake up sweating with the heat on. But if you don’t turn it on then it’s ok!

A good hotel from this APA chain, nice bonuses with the availability of water, coffee and tea. Clean, neat. The room is not big at all, sometimes it’s difficult for two people to turn around, but the rooms are cozy. The location of the hotel is good, close to the metro and the city center.

I don't think it's a hotel problem, we chose the smoking room ourselves. We just didn't expect there to be such a strong smell of cigarettes. We thought there was a window or a balcony where we could smoke. If you do not smoke in the house or you smoke electronic cigarettes, then I advise you to choose a regular non-smoking room and go to the smoking room.

Everything hotel wise was fine for a slightly expensive 3 star hotel.. no problem there. The Japanese room and staff were typically clean tiny and very helpfull as usual in Japan. Actually now I'm thinking about it the bed was unusually soft and comfy, rare in Japan. My only complaint is the restaurant, the add and some reviews said it was very good breakfast, maybe I went there on a off day because I didn't find much of the food appealing at all. It's named Peter Cole Irish pub lol there's absolutely nothing Irish about it! Even the name doesn't sound Irish to me, could be wrong tho I'm no expert. It's not that bad mind you maybe I just had high expectations after reading reviews and the add? Things that matter: Bed 8 (being generous pillows were crap) Shower 8 (tiny but good preasure) Breakfast 5 (pretty average, slopy scrambled eggs and crap baon) Staff 8 (limited english but great customer service) Cleanliness 8 ( room clean but dusty)

Everything was excellent, the room was extra clean and cleaned every day. I loved the shampoo and conditioner and the bathrobe. The breakfast was delicious with many options, some foods were changing every day. The bed is super comfy. I loved the possibility to wash and dry your clothes and to buy a drink in vending machine. I loved the small things as matcha tea in the room, air freshener or little origami <3

The window was "fake" (its heading to another building, no view) I do not like (but its same all over the japan) how many plastics is used (new toothbrush everyday, new razor, everything wrapped in plastic) but hotel has trash cans for recycling.

Great location at a decent price. Staff were very friendly (English not great but that's what I love about travelling!). And recommended a great local yakatori place! Room was small but comfortable. Very clean and nice shampoos etc. Interesting range of TV channels & programmes available! We were impressed by the security of leaving our luggage on our last day - they locked up our bags with a receipt - much better than other places we've experienced.

Room was definitely small, with nowhere to store clothes beyond a few hooks on the wall.

Very quiet at night despite its central location. Some bars and restaurants nearby and a family mart. Tokyo metro nearby (not JR line though) and JR Station Yotsuya (Chuo and Sobu lines that are connected to JR Yamanote line) at 13 minutes (relatively fast walker, with no luggage). Clean. Practical room with all necessary equipment (hairdryer, mini-fridge, kettle, towels, soap...). We were on the 14th floor, so we had an OK view on the city.

Very small room, not easy to move around with big luggage. We couldn't open the window to get fresh air into the room (14th floor...). The staff had trouble understanding English so it is difficult to request help from them. JR Station not too far but not too close either (with big luggage, we had to take a metro line rather than JR to avoid a long walk).

the location, the facilities ( washer, dryer, change machine, microwave, vending machines ect ) and the price was acceptable for the good location.

Although i accidentally booked a “smoking room” at my own mistake the room definitely needed more attention cleaning wise. the bathroom roof had yellow nicotine droplets pooling and stains throughout the interior in the bedroom. some much needed deep cleaning and steam cleaning would be beneficial. also the shower tap wouldn’t stay on unless it was on high stream and then would spray out everywhere.

Very comfortable room in a nice hotel. Room was small but we fit fine! Bed was comfy, good air con, everything was clean. The hotel is in a good location - we were visiting as tourists and the area is a business district, but it meant it was quiet at night and was very well located to get the metro easily to the rest of the city. Lots of restaurants nearby in Akasaka, and other small ones in Hanzomon. Good convenience stores nearby for breakfast & snacks.

convenience of a hotel. very helpful staff. toiletries being replenished daily. good facilities. convenient stores like family mart and 7-eleven nearby. the imperial palace is a walking distance. there is a train station although a bit far. the staff went out of their way to even help us with keeping our luggages after we checked out. you have laundry service and a microwave for everyone to use.

too small even for 2 people. if you have 2 luggages, you will have limited space to move around. we are small people (average Asians) so just imagine if you’re bigger.
