Almar Resort Luxury LGBT Beach Front Experience

The property and room was very nice. The staff are pleasant and helpful.

Upon check in, I was bombarded with all the potential extra charges and the $10,000 pesos held on my credit card for damages was excessive. That put me in a bad mood right from the start. If you had a guest, it would cost $25 USD. The hot tub in the living area took too much room and not necessary. Very little space to put clothes away.

The location, being around so many other queer people, the Eden pool is incredible. Having full access to Mantamar Beach club was awesome.

There was some construction noise during the day, but it never really bothered us. The room decor was a little tacky (neon sex lights above the bed?) They try to push a time share on you hard when you arrive.

We loved the location and access to local restaurants, Mantamar and the beach. The Almar pool area is beautiful with great views.

The gym has limited equipment and a few of them were broken. For an LGBT resort, we expected the gym to be significantly more equipped. The visitor policy is a bit too strict and should be more flexible.

The staff were very accommodating. I needed to stay for an extra night because I'm bad at logistics and they were able to let me stay in my room for an extra night. The food was good as well. When they said you don't get a view in a room, they really meant it, but I spent most of my time at the pool or beach, it wasn't a bother. I also felt very safe and secure in the resort.

I got one massage and they kept asking me every day if I wanted another. It wasn't the same guy, but when I was at the pool just lounging/dozing off to sleep, I kept getting woken up asking if I wanted a massage. This is just not their staff, when at the beach, while I was able to use the beach chairs, even the locals kept bothering me asking me if I wanted drugs or sketchy massages. I wish there was a way to deter that from hotel guests trying to relax.

The entire staff was friendly and welcoming; from the front desk staff, bar/restaurant staff, to the housekeeping staff. We were treated like family and made friends with them. The hotel is in a great location with sensational views and we could not have been more pleased with our room and our entire stay.

I did not appreciate the fact that the person who checked us in, Tomas, tried to trick us into attending a "luncheon" that was nothing more than a lure for pushing time-shares. After a quick research, we realized what he was up to and quickly bowed out.

The Almar Resort is an excellent choice for gay travelers looking for a luxurious and beachfront vacation in Puerto Vallarta. The location is perfect, within walking distance of the Malecon and the gay bars and clubs in the Romantic Zone. The pools are amazing, with stunning views of the ocean and plenty of space to relax and soak up the sun. I stayed at the Almar Resort for one week and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the facilities were top-notch. I would definitely recommend the Almar Resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and gay-friendly vacation in Puerto Vallarta.

It's a great all gay resort, rooms are spacious and with a nice view to the ocean. The check-in staff is super friendly and helpful. The restaurants have delicious and tasty options (although not too cheap) and the beach area is semi private towards the end of the bay. We had a great experience overall. The staff is friendly, comfortable beds, great spacious pools and relaxing chairs. They are flexible for letting you use the facilities while you check in and out.

The management staff is very sales oriented, vacation clubs, activities, massages, all in all is hard to fully relax when you are constantly getting offers thrown at you. There's still some construction going on but is not as bas as other reviews say. They won't communicate through the booking app for special requests like check in times or room changes. There's only one complementary coffee and no refills which feels cheap.

The staff is wonderful and the location is easily accessible to walk to the beach or into town. I didn’t most of my time on the 5th floor pool called Edge.

The bed was very hard and pillows were a bit floppy and spent. I didn’t have hot water until I called front desk to have maintenance turn on the valve from the main system. coffee in the room was not replenished daily and I was there for a week but could only make coffee in the room twice.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and close to the beach. The tub in the room was perfect for just sitting and watching the ocean from the comfort of our room.

Y’all… the property itself was fine but food and drinks were too expensive. I could feed me and my husband on about USD$10 outside of the resort or I could buy a drink for USD$20 at the resort. Hard pass.
