The Slaak Rotterdam, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Nice, interesting room styling, warm and friendly staff, decent variety of food for breakfast (may be not lavish, but certainly good), great with tidying up the room no matter when we leave "please make the room" outside the door.

For travellers, do remember it is a bit off the central station. Walking in the Netherlands is fine since its quite flat terrain, but it can get windy and drizzly every few minutes. The restaurant and bar are open only for limited hours, and that too not on all days. However, the staff are helpful and inform you of ways to order your food and are kind enough to deliver it to the door. Oh and we stayed for 4 nights, we'd have been happier if they were to change the bedsheets at least once. We can't complain on this because we did not ask for it... would have been a nice gesture though :) .

Everything was great. The rooms are designed for comfort, privacy (separate closed toilet and shower rooms), and efficiency (lots of hanging hooks, surface areas to put stuff, etc.). The staff, especially in the bar and restaurant were terrific. We also ate at the restaurant one night and the food was excellent. Location is perfect -- quiet yet tram, metro, restaurants and bars are all within one block.

Nothing. This was the perfect choice for a stay in Rotterdam!

I was thoroughly impressed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The hotel itself was lovely and fashionable. The decor was modern and stylish, and the facilities were top-notch. I especially loved the large windows in my room, which let in plenty of natural light and gave me great views of the city. Speaking of my room, it was nice and modern, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was well-equipped. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish place to stay in the city.

If I had to pick one, the only downside was that there was no lamp on the desk, which made it a bit difficult to read at night as the overhead lights were not very bright.

- The room is spacious and decorated neatly. - Housekeeping did a fantastic job. - The staff is friendly. - Lots of plug sockets and usb ports to charge something. - Location is perfect for me as it's a walking distance to the buzz area. - The bathroom is separated from the shower - Facilities in the room like coffee machine, kettle, tea, mini fridge, safebox, lounge chair. - They provided options for guest that don't have credit card.

Maybe as improvements, to provide vanity packets, slippers, more storage for clothes. Bonus to install Netflix on the TV so that guest can login with own account. I heard rattling sound when the air conditoner doing their job. It doesn't bother me but i thought worth to mention.

The location was very good, very close by both tram and subway station. There is a supermarket right next door which was very handy. The room was welled cleaned everyday, spacious and nicely decorated. Friendly staffs.

The shower and toilet are separated, so not so convenient having to walk to the bedroom to wash our hands. The size of the toilet room was way too small for a 5 stars hotel. The mattress were 2 separate ones put together to make big bed, which make it uncomfortable to sleep in the middle.

The room was very modern and well-designed with a beautiful view. The huge windows opened slightly, so that we could get a bit of fresh air-- I don't like hotels where the rooms are hermetically sealed. There was a small fridge that was empty so we could keep some food in the room. Coffee machine and kettle worked well. Staff was very friendly and the coffees at the bar downstairs were excellent.

This is a criticism of all Marriott properties, lately-- the soap, shampoo, and lotion provided by the hotels seem to be uniformly heavily scented with a kind of "Au de douche" axe-body-spray-type of smell. Maybe appropriate for evening, if you're a stockbroker going to a strip club, but I found it repulsive. It would be nice if Marriott offered scent free (or at least more neutral) amenities.

Rooms were spacious and staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable and the Suite and Executive rooms had lovely terraces for personal outdoor space. Gym is excellent quality for a hotel (would be even better with a technogym elliptical!).

It smelled in the hallways by the rooms - not good. Restaurant and bar service was incredibly slow. This likely can't be fixed, but would really be nice to have a sink near the toilet. In the suite, we had to walk thru the living room, through the bedroom and into the bathroom to wash after using the toilet. This meant waking those up who were already asleep.

Unfortunately work demands resulted in my only having breakfast in the Hotel for the duration, I say unfortunately as the meals are always freshly cooked and there was an Asian taste to the food. I must mention the omelet which was by far and away the best I had ever tasted and I would stay in the hotel just for this.

The lack of 24 hr room service was a limiting factor particularly for a business hotel. I was attending a trade show at the Rotterdam Ahoy which was a 25 - 30 minute drive from the hotel, however, the front desk could always obtain a taxi at short notice.

Nice room, bed is comfy

it’s very difficult to find your room at the first time, we have been walking for 20 minutes up and down with luggage. to reach the room 334 you need to take 2(!) elevators and 1 stair! and the stuff didn’t follow us service in restaurant is poor. They are open till 22:00, we ordered our dishes at 21 and asked for dessert at 21:40 , waiter answered that the kitchen was already closed. No one told us in advance to order earlier in case we want a dessert or smth else. P.S. It was my birthday.

A fantastic and charming hotel with really friendly and helpful employees. It is located near the metro and tram lines. In just 15 minutes you can walk to the center and the market area. Totally recommendable.

The room had some unacceptable flaws for a hotel of this category: several plugs did not work, the tap was loose, the light was insufficient in the bathroom area, the wiring of a lamp did not work, the phone did not work... Small details but that are not understandable in such kind of accommodation. Also, the soundproofing when the rain is heavy was not enough. However, almost everything is easily solvable, which is why it is still a fantastic hotel.
