Quirky building and check-in was unusual which initially made me nervous, but it couldn't have been slicker - much slicker than checking in via a receptionist. Breakfast was nice and enough to start the day. Ambience in dining hall was amazing. Presentation skills for the breakfast were great. Hostess was very pleasant and helpful. The only reason I didn't give full marks for staff and facilities was because we only had that 1 contact with staff which was faultless and there are no facilities (i.e. gym, pool bar, social area) - however you are so close to the town that the selection of bars and restaurants within 3 mins walk is more than enough to satisfy anyone. Thoroughly recommend as a base for a vacation as well as work.

Beautiful spot in a lovely town. Not so much an 'old castle' as a new, clean and modern take on and addition to a historic site. There was no staff present that we encountered: the digital key to open the doors was sent through email. Everything worked splendidly, but it was a bit strange not to be welcomed at all. This method is probably not for everyone, but a number was provided in case human interaction was required or requested.

The hotel is very well managed. It totally beats the renowned brands with a high quality furniture and personal touch. I liked the small details like that the fact that they use real nespresso capsules, not the cheap ones used in very prominent chains. In such a small hotel was a pleasant surprise to find an elevator. Another great feature is the small fridge in the room, which proved very handy with restaurants closing at 17:00 due to Covid measures in Netherlands.

They could put some soft material on the bathroom doors. They might be noisy when people slam them. Still, I liked that there is a shower in the bathroom rather than a bath tube.

We had booked a dinner in the Schagen city center and needed somewhere to stay. With a simple but nicely decorated room, enjoyable breakfast and only 5 minute walk to our dinner destination it was perfect. In the morning they were a bit busy getting ready for a wedding but the staff still took care to serve us the breakfast while busy. The building also has nice character.

always great staying at slot hotel right off centre of schagen. Cause of covid nothing going on in schagen in the evening but in normal situations it’s always great place. They where also great with the covid situation cause customers where able to use table and chairs in the breakfast area to eat there dinner that had to get delivered and had glasses and utensils available to use. Thanks for that.

Great building. Great location. Good breakfast. We were able to bring our bikes inside.

The digital phone access pass to get access on arrival didn't work for me, and I'm an IT professional with an up to date Android phone. I think it might be a one-time use token or something. Anyway, it wasn't explained very well and didn't work. I rang the supplied number and they were able to remotely unlock the door so I could get in.

lovely castle type property. we have a big room on the top floor. was a bit dated with the pink room Colour but nice place to stay. love you can unlock the room with your phone but if you do not have access to the internet on your phone or not  tech savvy may be a problem.

The breakfast was the ice on the Cake. Nicely served!

A very helpful lady helped us when we arrived as we had not notice in the booking that there's no reception and we came few minutes before two o'clock. This was our mistake not wearing our best reading glasses!

Breakfast was excellent quality. Room was comfortable & cosy. Check-in seamless. staff very attentive & friendly. will definitely stay whenever I am near the vicinity

Fantastic Hotel, Very clean, comfortable hotel. Room was great lovely walk in shower, very warm, great beds and very helpful and friendly staff.
