Alpenhorn Motel

Our booking with Alpenhorn Motel was upgraded to The Village Inn. Upon arrival, staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was a short walk to the waterfront and centre of town. Our room was large, clean, and with great air-conditioning, a kitchen, and newly renovated bathroom. The TV had streaming services and the WiFi was great. We stayed very comfortably with our toddler and a cot with extra bedding and towels were provided. Dinner at the Glow Worm Restaurant was absolutely delicious with really fresh ingredients and great service. Easily one of the best places we stayed in weeks, especially while travelling with a little kid.

Our apartment was quite large ( Family apartment ) only 2 of us.. We had small lawn in front plus Table and chairs at the back. Each apartment had a parking spot. So very happy for the two of us.

No full time staff available. When you arrive, envelope stuck on office window with your name and key inside. Lady who does the cleaning daily quite cheerful when you get to know her.. A bit lacking in the cooking department The oven grill did not work.

Given the price this place is absolutely fine :) If you don't mind a really old place, it's fine. Really cheap so we didn't expect that much. The place was taken over by some Chinese, that payes someone to mange it. That Asian man was friendly.

I mean clearly, who ever bought this place as an investment does not really care about the customers and thst why everything stayed as it was when they bought it from the previous owners. It's not pretty at all.

Parking directly in front of room. Nice large clean room. Good wifi. Good hot water. Very nice little kitchen area. Queen size bed. Very small hotel, I believe a total of 7 rooms. I would return if I were in the area again. Nothing around the hotel, you need a car to really get anywhere.

Check-in was a little crazy, but I did get my keys. everything worked out.

The 2 rooms with beds were very spacious, The wi-fi was fast and reliable. The location was in a very quiet area and the central part of Te Anau was close enough to walk to.

The mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and on the grout was not attractive. The unit could do with some renovation.

Easy checkin, the room was nice and cozy. Had everything we needed. Close to town & very clean. Shower pressure is good 👍

Pillows were a bit soft but that's a personal preference. First night didn't have a teatowel but had one the next day when serviced, no biggie. 😀

Location. Older style motel but very clean and spacious. Perfect for a base before and after walking Kepler Track. We arrived before midday from our tramp and were able to access our room immediately and get all our laundry washed and dried. Good cooking facilities. Great shower!!

It was central to both Milford and Doubtful Sound. Bed was really comfy. No hassle checking in.

Just the tv but we hadn’t brought this up to owner attention. And we only watched it for an hour or so. So wasn’t a big deal. Mouths didn’t match voices.

Great location to walk to lake and village. Onsite laundry (with powder supplied) was very handy. Simple styling and suited our needs of a one night stop over on way to Milford Sound.

Think our room may have had a smoker or smoking prior. We left the windows and slider door open.

Clean, spacious, great location with all the essentials! The staff were very accommodating - accidentally locked ourselves out and the gentleman was quick to come assist even though the office was closed. Definitely the best value in town!
