Staff warm and welcoming. Victorian era building. Extremely comfortable be. Fast filling bath. Organic milk in fridge for tea, fresh everyday. Good selection of quality teas and coffee+ French Press. Good sized desk. The location was very good with the harbourside, many art galleries including Te Papa, Cable Car entrance, well staffed information centre, shops and restaurants all within 10 - 15 minutes pleasant walk.

The bedside lights were tall and bright more suited to a lounge. Unsurprisingly some but not excessive intrusive noise of traffic, early morning deliveries etc. Window not viewable as situated high on wall and the panes were grubby but it must be a thankless task to keep them clean.

This place has some character. Beautiful period style property close to its 100th birthday, but run down sadly and about to get some much needed renovations. For me, I loved the history in every corner. It’s not often you get to explore such a lil piece of history and not meet a single soul during it…

Property is showing its age, there are lots of areas which are needing attention - just the marks of time showing. Will be nice to see it all polished up in the future

The staff make you feel very welcome, especially a blond woman who checked me in early after I had a hard day. They upgraded me to a room with a wonderful bathtub, the aircon was good and the room comes with Sky TV, a robe on loan, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, ironing board and iron, a desk and a hair dryer. It's in the centre of the city close to the train station and the bed was very comfy. The cleaning staff on floor 4 was super nice and helpful!

I assume they're undergoing renovations, since there was a crack in the ceiling. I also had some stains on my comforter.

We enjoyed out stay here, the history of the hotel was one of the main reasons we stayed here. The staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to Queens Wharf & restaurants. The old style elevator & the stair case were cool. Lovely big bathroom and very comfy bed.

A bit expensive for what we got, but it was expected as it is a "Boutique" Hotel. Only real negative was they did not supply a box of tissues, seems a small thing but is just a nicety.

Breakfast was not included.

Difficulty in locating hotel as there wasn’t any external signage and it was getting late. (A potted tree was hiding the name which was latter moved over). Two people stopped and asked if we needed help. We walked from the coach, as taxi drivers weren’t interested in taking us, as it turned out the hotel was fairly close but dragging suitcases wasn’t ideal.

my suggestion is whether you could consider partnering with a nz wool blanket supplier rather than the nylon bed cover. I think it would be good marketing - and nicely keeping with the lovely rooms! I stayed in a hotel in Minneapolis that had locally sourced quality nicely designed wool blankets, and sold them too. I come from a farming background and hate to see the shiny stuff when we have such good products being made here! thanks for having me, I’ll come again😊

Staff were incredibly friendly. I loved the old style of the hotel, and the old style elevator is pretty cool. Location is great and super close to a nice bar/restaurant. Not that far of a walk from main bus stops and retail stores. There's a cafe or restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel however they have shorted hours due to covid and the night I stayed there was a function booked, so I didn't get to eat there. Staff were real accomodating with my late check out and early check in requests.

I understand they were short staffed due to covid and this was explained on check in, however my bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. Shampoo and conditioners were already opened and hadn't been replaced, old ones were left in the bathroom. Wallpaper in the room I was in was also peeling in certain areas.

Excellent, convenient location, great heritage features in the building and comfortable rooms. Communication was great around check-in etc, and staff accommodating.

I think the overnight prices could be reduced at the moment while the 1815 Cafe is not open. Some of the bathroom and building fittings are also looking like they are in a little need of maintenance and could be spruced up a little without losing the heritage value.

Loved the classic style and the elevator, the bed was really comfy. Great bathroom! Convenient parking you can use for multiple entries throughout the period.

We were unfortunately there during a week when there were a lot of roadworks, which was very loud from our room. The staff were very good about it, and I totally appreciate that it’s a risk you take with having such a great location. Unfortunately the bar wasn’t open as they were short on staff - I look forward to coming back when it’s open!
