Radisson Hotel Panama Canal

Most of the staff was wonderful! The main person at the desk was rude and cold and wanted to charge extra. The other employees were super sweet and helpful! . The food from hotel restaurant was excellent and reasonable and served to us poolside! Beautiful area and pool!

Balcony door was very hard to open and close.

I chose this hotel mainly for the location and the view on the big boats entering or exiting the Panama canal. It was nice to watch the boats from my room balcony. The swimming pool is also very nice, and open late in the evening (which is appreciable, as a lot of hotels close their swimming pool at 6pm, which is normally when you would come back from visiting other places and you would like to use the swimming pool). The hotel is in a very quiet location, but a bit isolated. It was not a problem for me as I had a rental car, but it might be an issue if you don't have a car (the hotel apparently had a shuttle bus, but I don't know the frequency and the destination(s) of the shuttle bus as I didn't use it).

The room was OK, but a little expensive for what it was, especially as breakfast was not included in my price. However, there was an issue on the first morning : a customer entered in my room while I was still in bed (there was apparently a mix-up at the reception, and they gave him the same room number as me...), and to make up for this mistake, they offered me breakfast for the whole duration of my stay, which made the price more reasonable.

Your staff was gracious in providing a wheel chair after I had injured my leg.

We've been staying at this location for some 20 years. Breakfast was included when it was Country Inn & Suites. Radisson takes over and charges $15.00 for breakfast. That's ridiculous, especially if all one normally has for breakfast is a sweet roll and a cup of coffee. You did, however, waive the breakfast charge for me and my friends and I thank you for that. You followed up on that by saying, "It won't happen next time. You'll have to pay for breakfast." Also, some how, booking.com hijacked my attempt to make direct reservations through the hotel and because of that, your staff said I don't get my Radisson points.

The hotel location was good especially for Panama canal. The room was comfortable.

The check-in was impersonal. It felt like being in a factory line up. I had just had an accident outside, fell down and had some minor bruises. At check-in I mentioned this to the receptionist and asked if they had a first aid kit and I could get band aid. Without looking at me, the staff said I don't know if we have that. Then when check in was completed, not only he did not follow up but didn't even ask how I was. As I was too tired I didn't ask again and went to my room to rest. Hospitality means making people feel welcome and not just a mechanical check in. Machines can do that. Surely soon enough.

This place was better than we were expecting based on other reviews. The view from the balcony, pool, and Friday’s restaurant is incredible (we had debated this or the Holiday Inn near the locks — but were really glad we chose this place, as it was much closer to the water and had a balcony off the room). I wish our view was better/not half-blocked by trees, but if we sat on one side of the balcony we had a good view! The pool was also a nice surprise — we weren’t planning on using it, but ended up spending a few hours there because it was beautiful and had a great view! The attached Friday’s was convenient as well.

We had a really nice stay at the Radisson Panama Canal. The room was nice and we had a nice balcony overlooking the panama canal. We stayed here a few nights before our cruise and when we go to Panama city again we will most likely stay here again. Being right on the canal was great and it was fun watching the ships pass by.

The hotel a bit isolated so if you need to run out and get something you most likely will need to uber instead of walking as there is really nothing in walking distance.

The rooms were sparklingly clean and beautifully arranged by Gloria. Breakfast was delicious. There is a lovely garden with hammocks to relax in. Sergio and Gloria went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed out stay. Sergio took us on a wonderful tour in his boat, far up the river. It was very beautiful and peaceful, only passing a couple of other boats all afternoon. We highly recommend this property.

It wasn’t a problem for us but San Francisco is 10 minutes by boat from Tortuguero. There is a public water taxi ~$3 or private taxis. San Francisco is much more peaceful than Tortuguero though.

Hotel is right on Panama Canal and you can watch ships go by. The pool was nice, especially after a day of sightseeing. Friendly staff. Nice room large and very clean. Excellent included breakfast- best we had during our stay in Panama

We enjoyed the location, but taxi required to go sightseeing or resturants. There is a TGIF resturant on location but don't want to travel to Panama to eat at TGIF. Local food would have been nice.

We liked the view of the canal from our balcony. We booked a premium ocean front room and we’re glad that we did.We watched lots of boats and birds. Bring your binoculars! We liked that we could walk to and along the Amador Causeway. It is 10 minutes and a $10 cab ride to Casco Viejo. Breakfast buffet looked quite comprehensive but you can also do ‘a la carte’ which we did being vegetarians. Nice gift shop, buy your souvenirs here as there are none at the airport.

Busy. so could not check in early. There are no changing rooms or a shower by the pool. We had hoped to spend time there before and after check in/ out due to the timing of our flights. There is a big lobby with a/c for though. The coffee shop in the foyer had no coffee despite displaying a coffee menu. not sure if that was a one time thing.

Loved the balcony and view of the Canal. It was so fun watching ships go by. Rooms are large and comfortable. Easy check in process. Breakfast was good with many options and liked having the TGI Fridays on site. We had a late check in and TGI Fridays was already closed so the employee at the front desk let us purchase items from Cafe 1914 even though it was closed also. Very helpful staff, set up airport transfers and a tour. Free shuttle to cruise terminal (was actually the convention center for this cruise) Great pool area

I thought the room could have been a bit cleaner. It was clean but not spotless, there was some dirt in the corners and doors had finger/grease stains on it.
