Hotel de Arganil

Very comfortable,lovely choice of breakfast and actually very quaint and old portugal feel to it,was a little like going back in time but not in an unpleasant way,just has a lovely old feel to it if old portugal is your thing 😀

A little basic in places,the bathroom shower and the bed area could do with some modernisation,ie usb points etc,no tea or coffee facilities,but I'm not sure if this was something that was always on offer in the dining room 🤷

Very clean and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The people at the front desk speak English well. The Empregadas maybe a few words (I speak Portuguese fairly well). Free parking right at the hotel. Nice "living room" and a very pleasant porch where I sat to do email etc. Good café/bar across the street. Arganil is a small town and pretty quiet - just as I prefer. On Thursdays don't miss the outdoor market and the grilled chicken lunch.

The only down side was the Internet connection was pretty weak. I have a Portuguese SIM prepago with data so I used my iPhone hotspot at times. This was a general problem as I overheard someone else mentioning it. (The café across the street had good Internet.)

The perfect place for relaxation and rest. Excellent spacious rooms with all the necessary amenities: comfortable beds, air conditioning, plenty of storage space, and a view of the mountains from the window. The bathroom is nice with a hairdryer. The breakfasts are delicious with fresh fruits and tasty pastries. An excellent choice for a vacation.

there were not enough sockets

We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. The beds were comfortable, the room clean and quiet and the breakfast was great. Also loved the bar area with the lovely welcoming warm fire.

The shower was good and hot but the water did not drain well so you end up standing in 3 inches of water.

We liked the staff and the design with the open staircase to the sitting area and the separate lounge with a lovely bar. Also the close proximity to the center of the village.

This property was exactly what we needed. Very clean, staff very friendly and gave us wonderful recommendation for dinner. The bar/lounge are was spot on. Beautiful fireplace a bar that offers (for a fee) many drink types. If we ever end up in that area again we will definitely book again.

I liked the bedroom it was a big.

We couldn't find a socket to charge my mobile phone. It should have at least one more socket.

Hotel was meticulously clean. Staff were attentive yet non obtrusive. Great location, central to all Arganil has to offer. In a beautiful area. Highly recommend this property!

Lovely ambience, warm room (important on a cold night in February), simple style, yet comfortable. Great breakfast.
