Hotel Anjo de Portugal

The location was excellent and just a very few easy and safe walking blocks away from the Basilica of the Holy Trinity! (We were happy "on the other side" of the Basilica away from a more busy hotel, commercial area.) This Hotel seems more in a residential area and not in a busy congested area. We had a late dinner and walked through a park area and then back on to the Basilica grounds and to the Hotel and it was so safe and quiet and peaceful ! We stayed in late March (off season) so the whole experience was very manageable. The front desk help was exceptional. We had a room on the ground level and very quiet at night. Parking appeared limited at the Hotel but safe and well lighted very close to walking in to the Hotel.

Very happy with our stay but a short time of a barking dog down the street at night. Otherwise very quiet. Had a small issue trying to adjust the air conditioning. Room was very modern and very clean. Excellent location and easy walk to our planned destinations.

I stayed here in 2016 for five nights, and gave the hotel a very positive review. This year, I stayed for 6 nights, and am delighted that it remains as well run, friendly, clean and pleasant as it was 6 years ago. I think the best description of Hotel Anjo de Portugal is "comme il faut" -- everything is just as it should be. The rooms are well appointed, the linens high quality, the beds supremely comfortable, the staff solicitous and helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts are magnificent. We ate in the restaurant twice during our stay. The food was very good and the cost / value ration exceptional. My memory might be failing me, but I seem to remember that previous, at night, the dining room was dimly lit with candles, whereas on this trip it was brightly lit as for breakfast, and to some extent that spoiled the effect for me -- but that's a small complaint. In 2016 I commented that the hotel looked brand new, despite having been built some years previously. Good quality fittings, careful cleaning and regular maintenance are important. Again, I'm pleased to report that our room was immaculately clean, as were the communal areas. Rooms facing the Sanctuary have fantastic views of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, and we particularly enjoyed being able to hear the Ave bells being run on hour and quarters. This hotel is a good choice for pilgrims wanting to visit Fatima. The hotel is on what I would call the 'quiet' side of town: the side of the Sanctuary with fewer hotels and restaurants -- the 'town' rather than 'tourist' side. However it's a 4 minute walk to the Sanctuary, down 1 safe, clean street and yet close to all amenities. A perfect haven of peace! Like everywhere, Fatima has been badly hit by Covid restrictions, and many hotels, restaurants and tourist businesses have closed since my last visit.

Everything is great, perfect location with a 5 minute walk to the monuments. Great parking and most staff is friendly.

The breakfast was just okay, lots of canned fruits and only eggs and bacon as hot items. The restaurant staff was extremely rude, didn’t even greet us when we walked in, even though the restaurant was empty. Told us to sit in a 2 seat table and that was the end. They didn’t even come back to remove the dirty dishes off our table during the 45 minutes we were there.

The staff was truly lovely. Nice to have secure garage parking. Large bathroom with bathtub (except a high step in so be aware of that). We went to dinner there which was good value for the amount of food. The room itself was also a very good price as it included breakfast.

The garage was a little tricky to find and narrow which is expected in EU. Our mini fridge was not working and we did not ask to have it fixed.

The property was in the perfect location. It’s right next to the Basilica of The Holy Rosary, and all of the Chapels! The rooms are an excellent size, the beds were very comfortable, and it wasn’t in a busy area. You’re away from all the tourist stuff, but close enough to go whenever you want. Also, staff were very friendly!

So close to the Sanctuary of our Lady of Fatima. Less than a 5 minute walk to get there and I could even see it from my room window. Breakfast was 5 Euros and worth it. It's a continental breakfast but the food was well-prepared and good quality. Everything in the room was good as well and convenient to have free parking. Restaurants and shops within walking distance. Would book again!

The shower could be renoveted, could be better for a 4*. I thought very late the breakfast time and would like have it in the room at 6.30am, but was informed that couldn't be served before 8am, that was the same time available in the restaurant, I had to change my plans because it.

Room was fine, it had some smell of smoking but it came out when we left the window open. Nice staff. best feature is the proximity to the sanctuary. good value for money in this area.

The food was less than mediocre.

Our family room is spacious and has everything we need. Staff are friendly and helpful. Comfy bed with air con.

We are totally satisfied.
