Delfim Douro Hotel

Based on the south bank high above the Douro, the rooms, each with a private balcony offer amazing views over the river. We were checked in and attended by a professional team. The beds were massive and comfortable. We had a really good buffet breakfast and dined in the restaurant at night. The food was well presented and the restaurant seemed to attract non-residential bookings as well as people staying. The drive the following day along the river to Pinhao was truly spectacular.

The restaurant was a little pricey. That said the location is a bit away from the alternatives in the towns of Peso da Regua or Lamego high in the hills.

The staff is amazing! Very good restaurant and wonderful service. Rooms are surprisingly spacious. Castelbel toiletries— a local Portuguese brand. Front desk organized a day trip for us, which was fabulous. The views from this hotel are breathtaking. Breakfast is delicious, lots of local selections and fresh fruit. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. The bar is fantastic, we ate every evening meal on site three days in a row. It was that good, and we are generally picky. We are already talking about coming back again. Linda and Vanessa were two of our favorites.

Very nice position with incredible view of the river, nice rooms and beautiful swimming pool. We really liked the food, we recommend to try not only the restaurant but also the bar near the pool for very nice dishes in a quiet and unique setting sitting on the terrace at the ground floor. Staff extremely nice

In one of our rooms the bathroom (and toilet) was open space, in our opinion a door to separate from the rest of the room would be more comfortable From the hotel it is almost impossible to take a walk, maybe would be nice to allow for a stroll in the vineyard

The view and facilities in the hotel were even better than the photos. The hotel's elevated position overlooking the river was superb and the pool area beautiful. The restaurant was also surprisingly good, we had one of the best meals of our holiday here.

The level of English spoken by the staff here wasn't great compared to other places we stayed. It wasn't properly explained how to get to our room and we spent 5 minutes wandering round outside after check-in before we found that you could only get to the room on level -2 via the lift.

Beautiful views, relaxing location and good breakfast.

It is quite far away from anything so you have to drive for anything including meals if you don’t eat at the hotel. As it is off season the hotel was empty, literally as we were the only ones staying there and only one other room the night before who had already checked out, yet we could not check into our room before 3:00pm. Very odd, but they do say check in is 3:00pm 🤷🏼‍♀️

Modern hotel with stunning views from every room, across the Douro River valley. Parking outside the door. Great meals and (mostly) very friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay by a day. It was fun having a pool table to while away a rainy day.

If you're going to charge to use the pool table, perhaps the equipment should be in better condition - all the cues were broken and the felt was rather worn.

Everything. Location is breathtaking with all modern rooms having a balcony or patio view over the Douro River. We stay every time we pass through the area and never even consider any other hotel in the area. Lovely breakfast and evening meal with the option to dine outside. Inside or outside you dine with the amazing view from the floor to ceiling windows. Parking excellent, really important to us as we stop on our way to our Portuguese home from the U.K.

Absolutely nothing not to like.

Absolutely stunning location. All rooms have a view of the Douro River/Valley. Rooms well appointed - good size and lots of storage. Service was outstanding - the staff did whatever they could to make our stay more enjoyable. They recommended a wonderful day trip tour which included a river cruise, wine tasting with lunch (what a feast!) as well as a fantastic scenic drive of the Douro Valley. Had a wonderful tasting menu dinner in the dining room - excellent food. Breakfasts were excellent as well. A wonderful, relaxing two day stay.

Nothing.

The hotel had breath taking scenes. The hotel staff were so welcoming friendly and were eager to help. The room was cleaned every day. We arrived late and they were able to get us food. Breakfast was plentyful and was also a great setting for breakfast.

Not a massive complaint but us Irish like a bar to be manned at all times lol. So a few times going to the bar there was nobody available.

nice location overlooking the river valley, decent amount of parking. (car is a must) staff very helpful, suggested a tour with Dourobest, our guide (Rui) was great. food in restaurant is good for money. did not use other facilities.

rooms are nice and beds comfortable but who needs a window in shower? only one outlet to plug in phone chargers (on wall)
