Hotel Astoria Superior

Very centrally located hotel close to the bus station and the lake with nice lake view rooms (depending on your booking). Our room was huge with a nice, modern and comfy bed (duvet was rather thick/warm for hot summer nights), air conditioning and a clean and modern bathroom. The breakfast buffet had a vast variety of choices, nicely presented and generally quickly refilled when empty. Staff generally friendly, especially at our check-out. Even printed our train tickets because we forgot to do so. Luggage storage was possible, very helpful. Naljepšna hvala!

The carpets in the hallway, staircases and rooms are worn (torn and/or stained in some places), look thus a little outdated and could use a replacement. But that’s really a minor complaint. At 10:05 the breakfast staff switch off lights and music to notify you that breakfast is over. This could be done in a more polite way. Bled in general is very pricy (and ouverrun by tourists since 2018) which is also true for hotel prices.

Hotel Astoria is a large, modern, well furnished hotel with excellent air conditioning (important in a heatwave). The staff are excellent, there is car parking, and the evening meal in the hotel restaurant was very good indeed and good value for money. The location is a couple of roads back from the waterfront, which is a good thing as it means you can sit on the hotel terrace in the evening unaccompanied by the mosquitoes which inhabit the waterfront. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, which I would certainly choose again.

The 'public areas' are a little lacking, i.e. there isn't a public lounge area, just the dining room and the terrace; although the terrace more-or-less makes up for this.

The hotel is located just about 3-4 minutes walking distance from the lake. Our room (Superior Double Room with Balcony) has surprised is with a separate sleeping room. This has made the stay, even though for just one night, very pleasant. We could park the car free of charge - there is a parking garage at the back of the hotel and there are also parking places outside in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and there was no problem with us leaving the car in the garage after checking out, while we went to visit the Vintgar gorge. The breakfast was good with a plentiful selection.

I'd suggest to triple-check the prices if you order any kind of a transfers in the hotel reception - the prices in the TV-hotel channel were at the time of our stay outdated and the person at the reception also didn't have the most up-to-date info. A difference of a few € is not actually a problem. The problem is rather an unpleasant surprise and an awkward conversation with the driver (yes, you pay the driver, not the hotel).

We got a free upgrade to a family room so that was a much appreciated surprise. The room was spacious, super clean and had a nice view from the two balconies to the mountains and a bit of the lake as well (through the trees). We got a tub in our bathroom which we were really happy about. The bed was super comfy. I liked the fact that they are trying to be eco-friendly and also when you don’t need to clean your room, you hang a special eco tag on your door and get a free wellness center entry. (We didn’t use it due to my bad time management though - but still, it was nice!) The staff were always nice. The breakfast was delicious, offered even plant based or low sugar options which is something I really enjoyed, I have not seen this much in other hotels. And we really enjoyed the view at the hotel cat which was present at the terrace during breakfasts. :) The surroundings were nice, there’s a pharmacy right next to the hotel, a few restaurants/bistros and the lake is just 5 minutes away. Be aware of the nearby church ringing the bell regularly - we did not care but some people might. All in all, lovely stay and we would definitely come back here next time we are in Bled!

The hotel is an eco friendly option. Free EV charging was available after requesting a log in card from the desk. The breakfast is very nice with a wide range of options. A particularly nice aspect was the sunday morning violinist playing through breakfast. We used the spa and had massages which were clean and relaxing. The hotel is just outside of the busier parts of the town so it is quiet, but only takes a couple of minutes to get to the lake. We would visit again.

The location was great, near the main bus station and only a few minutes walk from the lake. The room was very comfortable - the only thing missing was a fridge. Breakfasts were absolutely superb with lots of choice including fresh fruit. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

I generally go for smaller family run hotels but made an exception this time and it worked fine.

The room was recently renovated and everything was new and clean. The receptionist was professional and friendly. We could use the garage free of charge (if there was a space available), free parking also available in front of the hotel. Location is great and close to the lake. Breakfast was exceptional.

Sound proofing is not that great and the lighting in the bathroom was very weak probably due to bad light bulbs but the bathroom also had a window so no problem during the daylight.

The hotel was attractive and staff at Reception were welcoming. We were happy to have an elevator and were extremely pleased with our mountain view room. The view was stunning, windows allowed for good ventilation & the bed was large & comfortable. Bathroom and shower were great. Breakfast was excellent and many food/beverage choices were available. We booked massages with the spa and enjoyed the beautiful environment & relaxing massages. We were very happy with our stay...close to the main road, but away from the traffic noise.

Great breakfast. I really liked that you can get a coupon for the wellness and appriciated the eco-friendly environment. Overall, it was very much worth it for the price.

Breads on the breakfast were stale on our last day. It would be also nice if the TV had an YouTube app.

This is a very nice comfortable hotel. With excellent service. The staff was very helpful. The parking have outside and underneath garage with no charge. This was great for us. It was overlooking the lake. We were given a suit. Plenty of space. The breakfast was fantastic plenty of fruit . Very vast choice. Staff was very helpful. Will go again.

Well the bed was very comfortable but was to high . But the worst was it had no fridge. I like to have a cold drink in the room while reading a good book. Small things but makes big difference.
