Mimosa Lodge

The staff members' service were really good. They make an effort to please the customer. And this is rare. The room sizes are good. The shower size is good. The restaurant is elegantly decorated and the food was good. The lodge is nicely decorated. The lodge is walking distance from coffee shops, restaurants and places worth seeing in Montagu. The pool area is lovely.

The glass/perspex shower wall should be wider, our floor was wet and we had to use our towels for the wet floor after a shower. The table on which the basin stands is huge but there is one small basin for a double room - that didn't make sense to me. The air con dripped water, so we had to put a towel on top of the cupboard to protect the wood. The generator was super noisy, I would suggest that they park it in a garage or somewhere where the sound is a bit muted. There's one small bin in the bathroom and nothing in the bedroom. I would put one in the bedroom as well. For a one night stay 1 bin is sufficient but if you stay longer, you need a bigger bin. The leaves should be scooped out of the pool more regularly.

The location was great. Mimosa Lodge is located in a beautiful, quiet, very clean town. The scenery was breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. My children enjoyed the breakfast most.

I stayed in a new apartment that had not been fully set up yet. A few things were missing but provided upon request. The WiFi connection was poor and water heater was not working well but Mr.Brie and MsBisa made sure all our concerns were addressed and they did their best to make our stay very comfortable.

The modern look of the room we stayed in as well as the comfortable couches. We had a parking close to our room and did not have to carry our luggage far. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Lovely personal garden with a great view of the mountains. Amazing water pressure in the shower. Also, really liked and appreciated the complimentary items upon arrival)

No hot water available during loadshedding as it uses a gas geyser.

The food was amazing, and the chef did a great job. During my week-long stay, the staff was incredibly friendly, and they made me feel right at home. They treated me with respect and care, which made me feel like a valued guest. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, making for a very enjoyable experience.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Nobiso went out of her way to accommodate our every request, and also as an excellent waitron in the restaurant. The trip (from Pretoria) was focussed on having a meal in the Grill Room after watching "In die Sop" episode of the conversion by Chef Bertus Basson. Had the Rump Steak and my wife had Fillet. Followed by a shared Malva with Creme Anglaise. Was worth every bit of effort and many kms to enjoy such a superb meal.

Very comfortable and well equipped room Mimosa Lodge offers a guided tour map for Montagu, so we walked for an hour or so and we saw all places of interest which are well described. Super idea and a very nice walk! But the very best was evening dinner: fine dining which has been something else. Wonderful!

Nothing to complain about - we should have stayed longer

Our suite was exceptional - spacious, comfortable, and luxurious! The location is perfectly central and breakfast was exceptional.

It seems that Booking.com had not communicated our booking or our payment made in advance to the hotel as they had none of our reservation details or confirmation of payment ahead of our arrival.

The cold options were not bad at all.

I think the hot breakfast option was disappointing, more offerings could be added and the presentation thereof could be improved. There are tables outside in the courtyard, what about offering us to sit there for breakfast as well. Also, the cold breakfast options were placed right next to the entrance to the toilets, I think this should be moved to a more acceptable and visible area.

It was an amazing experience from being welcomed and shown to our room. We had dinner and breakfast at Mimosa Lodge and both meals were excellent and surpassed our expectations by a mile. Our room was spacious, the decor was lovely and the amenities supplied in the bathroom were top class. Many thanks to every staff member for making this an exceptional stay. I won't hesitate to recommend Mimosa Lodge to anyone visiting Montagu.

Nothing. Everything was just perfect.

The lodge was nice and big, clean and comfortable. The cleaning lady, Jo-Ann and the maintenance man was very nice and attended to our every need.

Just a pity the apartment was not North facing , as we did not get any sunshine , cause it was in the middle of 2 other apartments. The apartment is self-catering, but not a lot of the necessary kitchen items.
