Singa Lodge - Lion Roars Hotels & Lodges

The decor, the vibes, the feels and the staff!! It’s such a unique place and right up our alley. It definitely wasn’t 4 walls and a door. I was in South Africa but had an Asian flair with meditation garden, pool, fountain, fire pit and lush greens. And the amazing staff!! They made us feel right at home and even helped out with a little spider we found in our bathroom!! Sorry Charlotte, there’s no room for a 3rd!! lol.

Only things I can think of is maybe the pool to be a little more tidy and the water fountain working. Oh and the “honesty bar” to be open a little later. We would’ve definitely enjoyed it after we came back from dinner.

The place in general is great. The staff, the rooms, and generally being accommodating. I did have. one or two issues, but Nolufefe sorted them out promptly and to my satisfaction. She is absolutely EXCELLENT, such that I don't even want to go into the issues - if the standard is that the resolution is done by someone like her, and all staff are that helpful, then no issue that comes up will make a dent in your comfort and enjoyment of the stay.

Not worth mentioning. See above. More than adequately mitigated by great customer service.

The staff are fantastic. The overall feel and location of the place is great.

There are a few small things which I feel shouldn't be experienced by the guest for the price per night and star level of the establishment. The place is lacking a bit of maintenance. Our bedside lamp bulb was dying and super dim, bulbs in the ceiling light were fused, the blinds all need to either be replaced or fixed, the safe in our room was out of order and was in the process of being replaced so we could couldn't store our valuables and lastly, the hotwater geyser is tiny, which forces you to have quick showers and also doesn't allow you to have a hot bath, because there isn't enough hot water. Things like this shouldn't be issues at a place like Singa.

I really liked the property. It’s a beautiful setting. We stayed for one night a week apart. The first night we had a really nice room that was one of the regular rooms. It was very comfortable and clean and seemed to be well maintained. The second night we stayed we had an upgrade room that I was not impressed with at all.

I didn’t like that the lighting in the rooms was very dim. Made it hard to put on makeup. Also the second time we stayed in the upgraded room I found shards of broken glass on the filler and also I thought the room needed some maintenance. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and plaster coming off the ceiling as well.

I was tired an emotional checking in as just said goodbye to good friends. Lady at reception gave me a hug and a coffee while I waited for my room. Didn't get the room I booked but allowed in 2 hrs early so that's a fair swap. Massive comfortable bed. Super soft pillows. All very clean. Hotel looks like nothing special from the outside but is lovely once inside the walls. Nice garden. Quiet. Rooms not overlooked. Pool is clean but cold, I only put my feet in.

Took me a while to figure out the lighting. That was a bit random. Wired by students??! Otherwise good. There's a kettle and microwave. Cups/saucers but no plates or cutlery. Staff are so nice I'm sure they'd let you borrow some.

Everything and everyone was amazing. The villas, facilities, game drives, food and attention to detail was exceptional. The team, and I mean everyone, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. A special mention to Karel, our guide, who was incredibly attentive to us and in particular my kids, providing detailed guidance and education on the animals and bush. The impact he has left on my kids is truly special. Over all, it was a very special and beautiful vacation.

The staff were so friendly and very helpful! Reception was very responsive and attentive to our needs. The beds are qaulity comfortable! They have a bidet! This was our second time booking, they did their best to ensure that the maintainance concerns were addressed according to our previous stay.

Bath drains through the closed plug in room 3. But not a problem when you have the option of a shower. Otherwise, wonderful experience.

Even though it was a business trip I took my partner with me and staying at Singa Lodge truly makes a business trip a pleasure, every time you walk into the lodge and rooms you feel like you are away from it all and go into pure relax mode. Great decor and finishing, towel racks that keep your towels warm. Amazingly comfortable beds, well thought out. Will be back.

Everything was great! The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has lovely garden and shared areas. The room we had was great - big and well equipped, bed was very large and comfortable, shower was excellent - big space and powerful. Breakfast was good - wide choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, etc and good choice of different cooked breakfasts.

Booked two rooms for a one night stay before an early morning departure from Port Elizabeth airport. Rooms and bathrooms are well appointed and very spacious and beds comfortable. Appreciate that they provided secure private parking within the compound next to our rooms. Recommended for a short stay/stopover in PE.

The pool didn't look very appealing - we opted to head to the beach rather than jump in!
