Hotel Boa Vila

Location is in the historic center, right on the Camino. Very convenient. Room was small but comfortable.

There was a small cafe on site but the only time it was open when we needed it was when we checked out. We got coffee and for some reason the proprietor did not make us pay (which was nice). We had a problem later though when we received notice that we had left without paying the hotel bill. No one asked for payment either when we arrived or left and they should have had our credit card through Booking.com. We straightened it out and I emailed my credit card number to them. They apologized and said it had been a mistake on their part.

We stayed here on our Camino. The rooms are outstanding. Very beautiful. We were greeted by a sweet woman who seemed in charge of the property. She gave us a huge bottle of cold water; very refreshing after a long day of walking in the sun. The room had two cooling fans. We had a double bed and a pullout sofa, but there was no bedding for the sofa. As we are only friends, we didn’t wish to share a bed. When I went to ask the host for bedding, she came up and insisted on bringing a nice mattress to put on the sofa so I would be comfortable. She went above and beyond to see to our comfort. I highly recommend this place to all weary travelers.

Our desk clerks were so welcoming and helpful!!!! The location is near the church on a quiet, narrow street. The apt had a refrigerator, laundry, bike storage, and our room had a seating area so lots of room. We also had a fan, while it blew hard, it was nice to have. The room is terms of decor but it has lots of storage/horizontal space which is often difficult to find in rentals. We would highly recommend this place! The best feature was a 12pm check out!!!!!!!!

Our room shared an atrium/lightwell and when windows were open we could really hear our neighbors.

The front desk staff were super nice and accommodating to our requests (taxi, extra water, help with washer and dryer). The location cannot be beat. It’s right on the old section and walking distance to the Pontevedra church and restaurants. It’s also right on the Camino Portuguese trail so you can see when pilgrims start walking in the morning.

The walls are a little thin and we could hear our next door occupants when they checked in but we were so tired from the Camino we slept very soundly at night.

the second room booked was with a balcony and we were told it was “ not available “ and the substitute room was very very small opening into the air shaft. batteries had been removed from AC panel so you could not use it. “ not summer”. ok but it was 26 and high humidity . Hostess frankly a little grumpy and unwilling to discuss anything about the rooms but maybe that comes with the reality of dealing with so many peregrinos from so many countries…….maybe…..

This property had exceptional location and even was located on the Camino path. We met the most lovely and helpful staff—truly the best part of our stay was them. The staff helped us with laundry and even gave us free large water bottles. The room was quaint and historical. It was clean and had huge windows. There was a mini fridge and TV. Truly so beautiful.

The bathroom was renovated and clean however had no insulation to prevent traveling of acoustics. We could hear others in the bathroom which concerned us.

The Boa Vila was in an excellent location and the rooms were character filled, functional, very clean and quiet. It has been one of the better places to stay for Camino travellers. The rooms were a good size. The breakfast in the morning was early at 7am and very good for perigrinos. Many travellers stopped there for an early breakfast to get on the trail.

We were on the second floor, though our luggage was already in the room when we arrived. I really liked staying in the Boa Vila.

The room completely fulfilled my expectations, as I was looking for some really old-fashioned place to stay on the Camino. I loved the decoration, the stone wall, the dark wooden bed with its exquisitely carved columns and its linen curtains, alongside a comfortable sofa to stretch for a while before bedtime. It felt extremely cozy. The bathroom was equipped with a modern massage shower, very relaxing. All the place was very clean. Above all I am very grateful to the receptionist, who kindly let me in long past check-in time and offered me a bottle of cool water to take to the room. As for the location, the Hotel is very close to the historic city center. Next time I'll spend a night at Pontevedra, it must be at Hotel Boa Vila.

Although it didn't bother me at all, the fact that the Hotel is located on a narrow street full of restaurants and terraces may make it difficult for some people to sleep.

The room and bathroom were very nice. Location was great, walking distance to lots of places. This was the first place in my Camino trip that had card key access vs physical key. Also got a big bottle of water which was a nice touch. Front desk lady was nice.

This is not the fault of the hotel and did not take away any points for it. But did want to mention my room opened to a small interior courtyard. I typically open the window to get fresh air. Unfortunately, there was another family with the same idea and I could hear them talk and husband do business on the phone (in German). Guests should be more considerate, if you need to talk loudly, close the window so others can enjoy the fresh air.

Loved the location. This is a basic hotel but they look after their customers well. Loved being presented with a big bottle of water when we arrived after 20+ camino walking. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms had a fridge and a fan. Very clean. Lots of restaurants bars, historic buildings and shopping nearby. Really well run and welcoming establishment.
