Salsa Hostel

The location was good, approximately 10 minutes walk from the railway station amidst the night market. The manager was very friendly and efficient and sorted me out with a top floor dormitory at the quiet rear of the building. I had a bottom bunk with a privacy curtain, reading light and electric socket. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept well for the 3 nights I stayed here. Toilets and showers on the next floor down. Everything very clean with air-con. The manager also booked me a ferry ticket to Koh Tao. Locker’s available on the 2nd floor as with free water, refrigerator up on the 3rd floor. Kitchen area on the ground floor.

Liked it all.

Cleanliness, comfy bed, spacious bathroom, location, free drinking water, a small fridge outside the room, kitchen that you can beat up food, proper kitchen!

Fellow travelers that arrived in the middle of the night or left early in the morning and had no manners, packed or unpacked in the room, and made noises. This can be done outside where there is proper light and lots of space

Sood is a warm, welcoming host and his 9 cats are delightful. Centrally located in Chumpon, handy for train and other transport. Hostel is clean and comfortable with good mattresses and bedding, room had a balcony. Attention to detail in the siimple attractive decor. Lots of tidy bathrooms with high pressure hot showers. Very nice breakfast.

Could be more communal hangout spaces. Naturally others in the dorm wake early for onward transport.

It is located a couple of minutes from the train station by foot and directly at a street where a lot of street food vendors offered food at night. The owner has adopted a couple of cats which are really cute and I love the stories behind it. Aswell he helped us book the tickets for the ferry to koh tao and in general a nice person and helpful.

The owner Sood is so lovely and helpful with very good English. There were cute cats around the common area. Wifi and air con were great, the bed was so comfortable, bathrooms were clean and well equipped. Sood let me into the hostel at 5am from the night ferry and was so helpful. After checkout it was no issue to leave my stuff while I went out into town, and then to chill in the TV area.

The kitchen facilities could have been a bit more organised, but no real complaints!

Staff was so so nice and super informative. Location was great! They arranged to transport to koh Tao and it went so smoothly!

The AC in room didn’t work and it was HOT! But I had just came from Nepal so I enjoyed the heat. I hope they do get their AC fixed though because it’s a wonderful hostel otherwise.

The owner and receptionist was one of the most helpful and proactive Hostel workers I've had in a long time! And I've been traveling through Asia and Eurasia for a year now. He was forthcoming and always willing to help out and give advice. They have a lot of cats which I loved.

Loved it there only the common area and lounge where a bit small.

I spent three nights here. I really liked the hostel. It's right on the beach, with a view of the neighbouring island. The food is delicious, there's a family atmosphere and I felt safe at all times. The city centre is only about 5 minutes away by scooter. I would check in here again at any time.

Nice clean safe hotel, easy walk from train station. I only stayed one night but it was very peaceful. Bathrooms were very hip, modern, and clean. I loved the cats. They are so sweet, but if you don’t like cats, don’t worry as they leave you alone anyway. Nice companions tho! The owner made real coffee and toast for breakfast which was really nice :)
