The check in was quick and the blonde girl was friendly and welcoming. Check in via bar. We didn't use bar but it seemed nice. If we had more time and less tired we would definitely use. The room was spacious and the bathroom was ok tho the shower handle stiff to turn. Beds were ok. Breakfast was ok, although my poached eggs were more boiled than poached. The full English and scrambled eggs were fine. The breakfast staff were lovely.

I didn't really dislike anything about the hotel but did think Amble seaside would be better somehow, perhaps the rain spoilt it a wee bit. Parking in street, luckily found space nearby.

The staff were very nice and polite and the breakfast was lovely beds very comfortable 😊

It was a longer walk to the main street and harbour than we expected anybody with walking difficulties would find this a problem but it kept us fit at the same time 😊

Very (very!) friendly staff, good ale in the pub below the rooms :-), nice communication even before the trip. Simple but good rooms, the use of the taproom for our own meals was expressly permitted. All attractions in Amble within walking distance. Also the breakfast was simple but good. Secure storage for bicycles.

Maybe a little sideboard for clothes in the rooms & vegan alternatives for the "full english breakfast" ... better working "shower fixtures".

Staff was welcoming and accomodating. Room was sufficient in size and adequately furnished. I arrived by bicycle. The property had a large shed with ample space to store my bicycle inside. The location is a bit removed from the local attractions, but withing walking distance of several restaurants and pubs. My room faced the street and there was traffic noise. However, things calmed down after businesses closed and I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was ample and cooked to order. The price was appropriate and I would stay there again.

I paid £60 for a single room, which was great value. The room was compact but very good. The bed was very comfortable. There was a flat screen TV and there was a kettle and lots of coffee & milk. The bathroom was very nice. The shower was excellent as were the towels. I was able to park for free in the street about 50 metres away. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was tasty and service was quick. It’s in a good location close to the town centre and 10 minutes walk to the harbour. I needed to make a Zoom call and the staff kindly let me the breakfast room, which was ideal.

Breakfast coffee was from a container of hot water, which wasn’t hot enough & instant coffee. There was no chair in the room.

Breakfast was great, filtered coffee on tap to wash down the excellent full English (one veggie). Room was good size, bed super comfy, controllable heating which we liked (switched radiator off as like a cool room). Landlady was was very welcoming & explained everything when we arrived, had key for outside door if pub was shut. Town & harbour all within 5 min walk, parking just round the corner. Best of all the staff were brilliant, everyone was lovely and friendly really made our stay enjoyable.

Wouldn't change a thing

The room was clean spacious and had everything we needed the only negative thing I would say and it’s not really major was the breakfast time wait. We booked our slot for 8.45 but didn’t get our breakfast until 9.30 we were on a strict timeline as it was my daughter’s wedding day however I could not fault any of the staff at all they were just lovely.

Just the waiting time for breakfast it was far to long

The breakfast was fine. Plenty of choice at the self service part with cereal, fruit, yoghurt, tea and coffee. I knew that The Masons Arms was on the main road through Amble, this was not a problem. I did not request a quiet room, we were only staying one night. It is near to the event which we were attending and was in a very convenient location for us. Amble is a small seaside town and the Masons Arms is within walking distance to the harbour and shops etc.

I chose this place because it was in a perfect location for us and was a very good price, excellent value for money. There was nothing I didn’t like.

Lovely, comfortable room, spacious and light. Good, central location, with easy walk to restaurants and harbour front. Good location for a stopover when cycling the Coast and Castles route. Secure bike storage. Warm welcome from our host and all staff friendly and helpful.

I would have appreciated real coffee at breakfast rather than instant, and the option of some fruit and yoghurt. However the cooked breakfast was excellent.

Stayed for one night with friends and we were impressed with the great service from all the staff. Rooms were clean, large and comfortable. We arrived on e-bikes (seven of us) and we were able to store and charge our bikes securely overnight in a locked garage. Brilliant! Amble is a nice little town with some good restaurants too. Great place to stay if you're cycling the Coast and Castles route at 40 miles from Newcastle.

Wasn't too keen on the air freshener used in the room (shake n vac?) a bit overpowering!
